Here's our new thread. Almost missed that it was needed!

Can somebody add the countdown again please, as I've no clue! 🤣🤣

@NoWordForFluffy

Snowman loo roll in Aldi (though nothing on the website ) I saw on one of the other Christmas threads that someone had bought it .
I couldn't get hold of it last year - I did to go Iceland and was so pleased ,,,but it was kitchen roll Xmas Hmm so I still have some for this year.
DH said "Oh we've got some of the looroll in the loft " but I know he's lying mistaken as there was only M&S looroll last year

Peace reigns on Earth and bums will be wiped on The Snowman as of Dec 1st .

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/11/2023 14:05

I have bought my daughter a £39 Oodie as they were such good value Wreck. She is very easy to buy for.

I ordered an over shirt for my son the other day. Neither has come yet though.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/11/2023 14:08

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 12/11/2023 11:45

Wreck that's my DD2. She gives me loads of ideas but then I struggle with her siblings and need to make sure their gifts are of equal value.

Crazy enjoy your shopping.

Ahhh that's when The Twitch reaches out it's scaly little paw and catches you

I have a rough list of what DD wants but she has to go with me ( not a surprise its what she asked for , Levi jeans and other things .

NoWordForFluffy · 12/11/2023 14:10

@70isaLimitNotaTarget, I saw that post and hot footed it (an hour or so later) to Aldi. I too have ⛄️🧻 which means that Christmas can officially start as soon as the first bottom is wiped on it in December! 🎄🎅🏻🤣

@NoWordForFluffy

Now all I need is a surefire way to stop all the savages in my house hanging the looroll the wrong way round . I;m sure my DS swaps it back he certainly hangs it the wrong way .

How many times will I stand there with my hands on my hips shouting " MAX the patterned but hangs as the front otherwise you cannot see it"

I'll give him sprouts and no Yorkshire Puddings or Roast Potatoes for Christmas Dinner .
He's on a Yellow Card Warning Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 12/11/2023 14:50

I'd put him up for adoption, 70! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/11/2023 14:58

He's just passed his Masters @NoWordForFluffy so probably a good time to send him on ?
Though at 24 yo and beardy he'll be hard to place

NoWordForFluffy · 12/11/2023 15:00

There are beard lovers out there, 70. Not me, mind you clearly why DH grew one!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/11/2023 15:05

Dd doesn’t give me a list (yet!) but I’ve been making my own when she mentions things she likes etc

We’re watching Home Alone 2 🎄

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/11/2023 16:30

My son is 25 and has a beard 70. He looks quite good with it, and he keeps it reasonably tidy so it doesn't look like it has remnants of food in etc.

WreckTangled · 12/11/2023 17:30

Fluffy what do you do with your nectar points at Christmas? They don’t do a double up or anything anymore do they?

NoWordForFluffy · 12/11/2023 17:33

Buy booze / Christmas food. Buy presents from Argos / eBay. Lack of Double Up is very disappointing!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 12/11/2023 17:34

DH has a beard. I remember being very unhappy when he said he was going to grow it but he's had it years and would look strange without it now (and I quite like it).

Firefly me and DH agree our marriage wouldn't survive without a dishwasher so you have my sympathy!

I love shopping with my mum, I can pick things up guilt free. Today I got a little plant in a Santa pot and a string of 20 battery powered lantern fairy lights. I know they're not the same as the old ones but they were cute (and cheap).
DH is supremely unimpressed Xmas Grin

Does anyone have any hints or suggestions on what to buy for a 15 yo boy please? It's one of the children I've been given as part of the local Santa scheme. I know nothing about him - so far he has pjs, an M&S selection box and a Lynx set 😳

NoWordForFluffy · 12/11/2023 17:38

Costa gift card, Crazy? American sweets (something a bit different). Difficult to know without being told much about them, isn't it?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/11/2023 17:41

Thanks fluffy I’ll do that, just checking I wasn’t missing any tricks.

I would rather lose dh than my dishwasher 😅

Hmm I don’t know any 15yo boys. Are you allowed to do vouchers? Tricky when you don’t know what they like, as they’re all so different! How about a power bank? Small, not too pricey and useful for anyone regardless of likes/dislikes.

JenniferBooth · 12/11/2023 17:45

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I got The Snowman packet tissues from Home Bargains.

Im on Film 4+1 Scrooged is on.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/11/2023 18:43

Oh yes I'll look out for the tissues , they're patterned . I found a pack in a drawer that I'd probably had since the DC were at school Xmas Grin
And I di like a wander round Home Bargains .....

Crazy is there a budget? Charger cables (my DS goes through them like nobodies biz ! )

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2023 08:37

Morning!

Bit bloody breezy today. We're under a yellow weather warning for wind, with gusts up to 60mph. It's also green bin day, but thankfully they've already been emptied and I got ours and next door's in before they headed off down the road! 🤣🤣

I'm on Team Dishwasher too. We're going to have a surplus one soon as the new house has a full size, integrated, one. Our workhorse Beko slimline, which has never gone wrong in 10 years, will no longer be needed. Poor thing!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 13/11/2023 19:56

Evening. Thanks for all the suggestions. Gifts are for children in the care system so I'm not sure what he'll have phone/gadget wise but a power bank is a good shout. Plus maybe a costa/Starbucks voucher?
No set budget, just the one I set for myself - aiming for £30ish?

Also just booking cinema tickets for Christmas films in December- my Christmas film with a live orchestra event has been cancelled and this is my alternative Xmas Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2023 20:04

Do you know where he is, Crazy? You could get a cinema gift card if you had an idea which cinema chain was near to him.

That's a shame about your film with orchestra. They do loads of that kind of thing in Liverpool.

I've just wrapped / packed gifts and arrange an RM collection tomorrow. I'm trying to clear the house of stuff which doesn't live here before we move!

OP posts:
TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 13/11/2023 20:09

Have you got a firm moving date Fluffy?

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2023 20:17

Sore point, Buck! No...hoping for 13 Dec completion and 15 Dec move. If the vendor pulls their finger out.

So far I've (successfully) applied to the Land Reg for expedition of the first registration and chased the vendor myself in relation to the incorrect plan issue. Once the latter is resolved, I think we're good to go! 🤞

OP posts:
TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 13/11/2023 20:33

Annoying Fluffy

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2023 20:39

Beyond annoying!

But our conveyancing file was with the supervisor for checking last week. So they clearly think we're ready to exchange, other than the o/s plan issue.

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 13/11/2023 20:56

Fingers crossed for you Fluffy So annoying!

Don't they know you have Christmas decorations to get up?!? Are you taking any time off work to move?
