Hope everyone is okay with me starting this new thread off. Thread 1 is at 992 so thought best get a new one up and running so we don't miss any bargains.

With thanks to @sideorderofchips for all your work keeping these prequel threads going. Hope everything is okay and you'll be joining us again soon to reclaim your fab threads.

The prequel threads are kept going through the year in the run up to @reastie taking over for the Christmas bargains threads late summer/autumn.

It’s Prime Day

had a quick look and for me it’s the usual big mark ups with ‘discounts’ on, can’t see anything amazing yet

this Barbie doll with unicorn seems a good price at £33. It’s reduced packaging though which when I’ve bought before meant it was in a plain cardboard box rather than a pretty one

Crimsonbow · 11/07/2023 06:53

@Blessedbethefruitz Yes Brio is compatible with lots of other wooden track. We have a mix of Brio, Bigjigs, IKEA and whatever came in bags of the stuff from fb marketplace.

Sux2buthen · 11/07/2023 06:56

Worst prime day ever by a Mile

snoozingbaby1476 · 11/07/2023 07:26

Nothing on prime that's on my list either. Disappointing

Realfastfoodie · 11/07/2023 07:26

Blessedbethefruitz · 10/07/2023 23:05

@WhyDoesItAlways We actually only have a big chunky Thomas set suitable from 1! Loads of track and talking trains, but we've not got anything else like this except rc monster trucks.

It's more building tracks that is of interest. I was pondering a tree train this year as his baby sister will be almost 2... Can you combine knock off brio tracks with genuine bits?

Brio is fantastic and the compatible stuff generally fits. Big jigs, ikea, John Lewis etc all make compatible gauge stuff

RainbowZebraWarrior · 11/07/2023 07:31

Also agree worst Prime day ever. I was looking for a keyboard, phone and some other bits. Meh.

There are some Neom Prime Day reductions, including Pods, but nothing to really get excited about.

WhyDoesItAlways · 11/07/2023 07:56

@blessedbethefruitz

As others say, any knock off brio fits. I've seen some of the remote control brio trains reduced on prime today (although agree with others the prime day sale is rubbish - all the usual predictable stuff on offer).

PostPopper · 11/07/2023 08:00

Someone was looking for the Mario Lego starter set. It’s £34.99 on prime day. I know it went much lower last year though.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 11/07/2023 08:19

There's quite a few burts bees sets that look cheap, in the Prime day on Amazon. 4 lip balms for under £8, I think that's good 🤣

Fuckingfuckssake · 11/07/2023 08:38

@Toomucho thanks for the tip.

CinnamonCoffee · 11/07/2023 08:41

There's plenty of mega Pokémon Lego dupe reduced and also a colour change mermaid barbie for £10 odd

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B08J2PP3GF/ref=oxsccsavedimagee1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/07/2023 08:57

Thanks all, I'm exploring brio! The duplo one looks cute as well though. But I'm now wondering if it would need to be a joint gift with his little sister who will no doubt want to be involved...

RainbowZebraWarrior · 11/07/2023 09:58

AndAnotherSoup · 11/07/2023 15:19

Studio have several deals that they are calling Prime offers. Not looked closely but the offers on the email looked decent (I thought the Little Tikes kitchen looked especially good value at £70).

Sorry can't seem to add screenshot www.studio.co.uk

They also offer good deals for new customers. You do have to open a credit account to get the best value but they can be paid off quickly without accruing any extra costs.

Oo you've found lots there Cuwin! My kids have had that fine motor set for years and still play with it now.

I've got gin (Tanqueray) and whiskey (Bushmills 10 year aged) for parents, although for birthdays not for Christmas.

Found this magnet science kit £10.63 for Prime Members or £11.20 for non. We had the rainbow one and it was great. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072JML1R3?ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_dp_7JT1J8ZGTVP66B0SZXDY

I've bought this magnet making kit for the summer hols for £4.89 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09NP16P8R?ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_dp_XPKX0J728ZCBMQ3Q0PDX

And junior scrabble was £9.39 which seems a really good deal compared to amazon normally and elsewhere.

Decided she is a bit young for the fine motor kit yet but brought her the bean bag, leap frog book, threading set and baking book. Then have brought the mega blok train for a friends child
