With thanks to @sideorderofchips for all your work keeping these prequel threads going. Hope everything is okay and you'll be joining us again soon to reclaim your fab threads.

The prequel threads are kept going through the year in the run up to @reastie taking over for the Christmas bargains threads late summer/autumn.

Hi all, just found you so few things bought early to get shopping underway!
My biggest grown as always are adult males! No sports, no hobbies, two don't drink, the others always seem to get a case of beer 🤣 Any ideas or spots for them very welcome!
I've just got a boots beauty box for SIL and the Next beauty box for a niece. Now off to look at jewellery for a number of 18ths this year !

For adult males could do the Cluedo escape game - currently £12.21

Or the classic Blanket hoodie currently £9 for this and the zip version as well (my dad raves about his).

last year most adults got the turtle doves wrist warmers from me, including males. No clue what I’m going to do this year…

@ArthurChristmas22 the bargain thread staples! Hoping some exciting new adult gifts arrive here this year 🤞

The next sale is starting Saturday, might be sooner online

Famousthehero · 06/07/2023 07:03

Oh another random male (or female) gift is these Packable Chairs which we use on the beach etc, they fold up into a bag and fit in a rucksack. They’re lightweight.
there are lots of versions, I think Moon Lence is the proper branded one.

they sit Very low to the ground so not good for people who are less mobile though

Willow4987 · 06/07/2023 08:39

House of Fraser have an up to 50% off sale.

I’ve just started looking and there are some good things like novelty socks that might be good as stocking fillers

Famousthehero · 06/07/2023 10:02

Just had a sudden thought that I need to get DH a heated throw for this winter - I picked a used - very good version of Electric Heated Blanket Throw Flannel Sherpa Fast Heating 180x130cm, 10 Heat Levels & Up-to-9-Hours Auto-Off Timer & LED Display, for Home Office Use, Machine Washable, ETL Certified, Grey amzn.eu/d/08mydsv This heated throw and it took 20% off at checkout to make it £33 which I thought was good. Not sure what the 20% off is, maybe savings on the Warehouse products?

Boots is having 7 days of Prime Offers.

When I search for bargains on their site I have to trawl through pages of items with Stock sold out and Stock coming soon (which can say that for months).

However I have just bought this Speed Styler Giftset for £25, which is currently listed at £55- £80+ at sites online just for the brush. I’ve also stocked up a pack of 8 original Invisibobbles which might be a suitable stocking filler for £5, although I plan to use them myself. Their non-sale ones are 3 for £5:50.

Mummyofdoggies · 06/07/2023 15:35

The illuminated mirrors are in the Boot sale too for £10

It may be worth checking Boots clearance section occasionally if you’re after a bargain as some things which went out of stock this morning are available again. For example, this Babymel Robyn pink changing bag is £20 at Boots and £75 at Babymel . Other colours can be £69+ at Boots and online. A (blogger?) review of the bag is here.

There’s such a variety of things in the clearance section, suitable for presents or just useful, including perfume, nappy pants, breast pumps, manly toiletries and shampoo refills. I also found my local branch had quite a few other things on their clearance shelves.

GriseldaClement · 06/07/2023 18:54

Thank you for the heads up on the boots 🪞 🧡

Willow4987 · 06/07/2023 20:03

Thanks for the boots tips!!!

thanks to these threads I’ve only got 5 people left to go on my Christmas lists and currently 28% under budget 🙌🏻 and that budget is even less than last year. I based it off what I actually spent last year (which was also below last years budget thanks to these threads)

I basically don’t like paying full price anymore 😂

really hoping for some more good deals
later in the year like paddy and Scott’s or the spicery deals. Parents in law absolutely loved those gifts and said they were ‘inspired’ so I’m feeling the pressure this year to top it!

OKwhatsNext · 06/07/2023 22:01

Thanks again for the tote bag tip. Mine arrived today and they're put safely away for Jan birthdays 😊

Really random one but does anyone have experience with fart ninjas? I have a will be 4 and 6 year old which I think would find these hilarious. Want to get them as cheap as poss as they would be stocking fillers really but am going on the wisdom of anyone on here if theyre even worth it.. postage is as much as the things themselves really. Thanks!
