All of taming twins cheesecakes here:

She has a Nutella one and a chocolate orange one too. Might have to make Ferrero Rocher one for my dad...

Chocolate mousse for me every time. My mum did one which was literally just dark chocolate melted with a little butter, eggs yolks mixed in when the chocolate mixture is cool enough, and then the whisked egg whites folded through. So rich, and so delicious!

That’s my go to recipe too, from the Readers Digest Cookery Year book.

Terry's chocolate orange trifle.

Chocolate Swiss roll (supermarket brand)
Tinned orange segments in juice
Lots of custard
Terry's chocolate oranges
Double cream
Melt 1 chocolate orange per tub of custard. In a bowl layer Swiss roll, orange segments and some orange juice and then top with custard, do a second layer and then finish with whipped double cream and chocolate segments. You can either make a giant trifle or mini trifles in glasses. Its also best made within 24 hrs of eating.

This is my favourite thread! That dark chocolate and salted caramel pie looks wonderful!

Me and my son make profiteroles on christmas eve with ganache and I make my own salted caramel sauce.

You could try a black forest cake. They are also surprisingly easy and you can layer it how you like.

I’ve been making Bronuts recently, a slightly altered brownie recipe, then I decorate them with really over the top decorations. Dipped in chocolate, caramel popcorn etc.

Delia Smiths truffle torte. Mega easy mega impressive!

I'm going to make tiramisu this year - probably this one

Layering stuff on top of each other is my kind of Christmas cooking

I am doing the chocolate orange trifle which is dead easy - I actually remember making it in domestic science at school in the 70's but not sure if chocolate oranges were around then. I am sure I decorated it with mandarin segments.

Another one is Mars bar cheesecake. Use chocolate digestives for the base, basic no cook cheesecake recipe but then swirl a melted Mars bar or two into the top bit and decorate with toffee sauce.

Delia Smith's chocolate bread and butter pudding (from her winter cookbook).

Nigella's smoked salt chocolate tart.

Toblerone cheesecake, it’s no bake and the simplest thing ever, I make it for special occasions a few times a year. Plus it’s fine to make weeks in advance and kept in freezer.

I don’t have a food processor so I crush biscuits in a snap lock bag with a rolling pin.

Mississippi Mud Pie

Make a biscuit base using 200g crushed chocolate digestives and 50g butter.
[Or buy a pastry case, or use a layer of chocolate cake, or set it in little pots, whatever]

Melt gently together: [I use a small non-stick pan] Low heat, don't let it boil!
2 tbsp milk
100g white marshmallows [mini ones best, or snip big ones into bits]
175g good dark chocolate
225ml double cream
Remove from heat, beat to ensure thoroughly combined, pour onto base, chill to set.

Easy enough for older kids to do, serve dusted with cocoa with cream/ice-cream/bit of fruit.

Chocolate meringue roulade - so easy my 14 yo has made it for me for the last few years.

moggerhanger · 19/12/2022 08:27

Black Forest Trifle. Choc Swiss roll topped with frozen cherries (defrosted obviously) and a slosh of kirsch or cherry brandy if it's adults only. Top with blackcurrant jelly, chocolate custard and whipped cream. Decorate with choc curls or even bashed-up Flake. You can make nicer choc custard than pre-bought, if you warm fresh (shop-bought) custard gently and melt dark chocolate into it.

No bake chocolate cheesecake, it’s utterly amazing and dead easy to make. Just blitz some chocolate biscuits, add some butter and press into a tin. Whisk some cream and add a drop of vanilla essence, a drop of lemon juice, some cooled melted chocolate and a tub of cream cheese. Spoon it over the biscuits, leave to cool and serve it decorated with Cadbury’s flakes and chocolate sauce.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 19/12/2022 08:38

Like PPs I came in to say Delia’s Truffle Torte, it is phenomenal, super easy, freezes like a dream and you won’t regret it. If you don’t like amaretti biscuits then use very finely chopped ginger biscuits.
Delia also does a wonderfully east fallen chocolate chestnut soufflé cake - again it’s wonderful.

Andsoforth · 19/12/2022 08:48

chocolate biscuit pudding - mix equal quantities of condensed milk and your favourite chocolate (melted) and then add in broken biscuits and crushed crunchies.

Press into a plastic pudding mould and freeze. Turn out when set and paint on melted chocolate with a pastry brush, and then stick maltesers to the outside.

pour a little white chocolate on the top and finish with a sprig of holly.

Chocolate log. For really easy you can buy Swiss roll and smother it in buttercream.

stringbean · 19/12/2022 09:02

Another vote for Delia Smith's truffle torte - dead easy, decadent and doesn't disappoint.

pigsducksandchickens · 19/12/2022 09:10

Mississippi mud pie. A bit dated but still lush!

HowDoWeDoThisPlease · 19/12/2022 09:16

Nigellas chocolate orange flourless cake. I don’t usually like chocolate and orange flavours together, but this is divine. Really rich.

Pick up a cheap supermarket panettone. Sainsbury's do a chocolate one or you use a plain one and jazz it up

Use as the base for a panne tone bread and butter pudding

This. Bloody incredible.

Rainbowshit · 19/12/2022 09:18

Also Delia's truffle torte. As many others have said!

SallyWD · 19/12/2022 09:20

Delia's cheats chocolate trifle is delicious.
