Just planning for the week ahead, and thinking i might go mid week and get everything to avoid the masses, when is everyone going for their fresh stuff?

Work for a supermarket. We are expecting Weds and Thursday to be the busiest.
I think shops have different supply and workforce issues than people are used to in previous years. If you see something you like buy it when you see it.

if you want specific brands of cheese/pickles/snacks I’d buy ASAP. However If you want bargains go on Christmas Eve. We don’t have enough staff to put stuff out so we are expecting lots of stuff to be found when it gets quieter.

Delivery booked for 24th and collecting from marks and Spencer on 24th as well. X

Grocery delivery is due on Thursday afternoon and I am collecting a couple of pre ordered bits on Friday. I want to try and make sure that we don't need to go out anywhere on Christmas Eve.

Everything but veg n fruit done. Bloody ASDA had dates of 10/12/22 today - the 18th on all their me can dips!!! Anyway will get them after work on the 23rd and what the local shops don't have we will manage without!

Also interesting is our store doesn’t have any extended opening hours this Christmas. Used to open on Boxing Day but isn’t this year ( open on NYD though).
Not sure if this is related to a bank holiday being on a Sunday which we will have “opted in” so paid the same whilst Boxing Day isn’t, or other factors.

Doing ours tomorrow then I pop out early xmas eve morning to top up milk and bread and that's us done 😁👍

Friday morning. No guest for Christmas so just the three of us. Planning on eating out for lunch Xmas day anyway. So happy to get whatever else if what we want isn’t in stock. No uk, so no major scram for turkey anyway, and it’s a much lower key affair anyway here so never queues of full trolleys

I have ingredients to make homemade nice pies and sausage rolls already

First time I’m going actual shopping for food for ages, I just didn’t trust everything turning up. I’m going to do a bit tomorrow then get fresh on Christmas Eve morning, too late?

gigglinggirl · 19/12/2022 09:04

Main shop on morning of 21st. Will pick up things I forget on 23rd, plus collect turkey and sausages from butcher on 23rd.

Getting my veg from the farm shop Thursday, Tesco delivery Friday. If I’ve not got something, it’s just tough.
