@Rubyroo73 My son says Juno records is good.

He’s currently repairing an old 1970’s one. From scratch including the electronics.
Annoyingly I thought it worked, so all my gifts are redundant until he’s got it working.

Where can I get some nice hot chocolate bombs from? Online or real life.

DC would like bombs rather than spoons this year but I'm not sure where from!

Aldi have Christmas shaped kids ones, and they also have some fancier looking ones aimed at adults which look really good!

OfHardy · 14/12/2022 16:18

Hi all,

Does anyone have a code for the official Nike website ?

Dd has decided she wants a football shirt and since I've really struggled with her presents this year , I'm more than happy to oblige but wouldn't mind bringing that eye watering price down abit Confused

Turtleoo · 14/12/2022 16:28

@Pachangas not helpful for Xmas but you can hire ride on vehicles for birthday parties, companies like Kids Party Wheels (and many others). Not cheap and you'd need to hire a hall as well, but might help if he has a birthday coming up soon?

There's a fruit picking place near us in Herts that has a little electric go kart track in the summer but not helpful a) in winter or b) if you live elsewhere, but they do exist!

Hello you lovely lot, is there any chance anyone knows of a way to get an IKEA discount? Shipping is £40 which is half the cost of the item😭 I nearly fell over!

I also have a Morrisons gift card for £10 if anyone would like it? It was a Vodafone reward but I'm in NI.... they didn't really think that one through

@tabbtabbycat985 I could definitely put this to use if you still have it and definitely can't put it to use. I can get the school teacher a nice bottle and some flowers

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 14/12/2022 16:38

@OfHardy I can get you 10% with Blue Light card if you want?

OfHardy · 14/12/2022 16:39

@ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner that would be amazing! Thank you

Would be grateful for any ideas for my 6-year old son - he has become a bit obsessed with the idea of electric ride-on cars and motorbikes: https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/outdoor/electric-ride-ons/c/SM060313 - like these. He insisted on putting one on his list in his letter to father christmas, a list which has almost nothing else on it! I think he is possibly too big for these toys now but not sure - and I just don't see where around us (busy road, garden with only grass and no paving, front drive with just gravel!) he would ride on it! does anyone have any advice, or alternatives? I was thinking that maybe there is something we could do as a day out or experience that could involve ride-on things like this? I'm a bit stuck!

I've been to lots of soft play type centres that have go karts. If your budget can stretch to it, at Alton towers they have a bit with ride on cars that can go around a track that looks like real road with traffic lights etc. Honestly my son was in heaven and would have spent the entire day only on that ride given the chance. You get get 2-4-1 vouchers on certain food packets to help with the cost too

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 14/12/2022 16:40

@OfHardy I'll pm it to you.

@wibdib you can get something called Brazilian keratin from Amazon, it is amazing stuff. It makes your hair slinky and silky, I’m sure putting some of that through would help. I also like olaplex 3 for treating damaged hair (younger DD has hair that knots as soon as it is brushed and these keep it manageable for her).

The milk might help, but possibly more for maintenance.

I think Martini has a good idea with the olaplex/ mask.

Can anyone recommend the best place to buy new vinyl records?
thank you!

Please try not to use Amazon. We've used Norman's and Vinyl Tap. For unusual stuff Discogs is great.

Room4onemore · 14/12/2022 17:10

can anybody recommend the best reusable hot drinks cups that actually stay hot please

Talisin · 14/12/2022 17:16

@Room4onemore Contigo. Expensive but worth it - will stay hot (or cold) and will not leak or spill.

Whyisitsodifficult · 14/12/2022 17:32

Thanks for the Charlotte Tilbury tips I’ll take a look. For the lady with the knotted hair smother it in conditioner the get a tail comb and just slowly un pick it piece by piece, should work if you’re patient!

FleasNavidad · 14/12/2022 17:33

@BalanceNotSymmetry Sainsburys are so soft fleeces and wash well

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/12/2022 17:47

@Room4onemore the thermos king metal ones

Contigo for spill proof and easy drinking, sho for their goblet type cups but not for drinking on the go and I have a stanley one which I use when I want to keep It warm the longest.

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 14/12/2022 17:57

@Pachangas My DD was exactly the same last Christmas, desperate for something to ride on with no effort! We bought her a hoverboard and a go-kart attachment which she happily zooms around the house on!

MayaTheBusyBee · 14/12/2022 18:44

@dancemom i have £6 off £60 spend if you still need argos voucher

The Yeti ones are excellent. I make a hot drink before I leave for work at 7:30 am and the drink is still piping at 5pm when I finally get chance to drink it! The Beast ones from Amazon are a cheaper alternative.

Has anyone seen a short, black puffer jacket in stock anywhere (approx age 11/12)? Needs to be fairly puffy and warm, not a lightweight one, about waist length. H&M have an ideal one for approx £20 but not in the right size!
