How long has he been living in the UK? For Xmas gifts a few years ago I got Portugese and Russian colleagues classic UK Xmas stuff, like mince pies, mini Xmas pud, Terry's choc orange, etc

Home bargains has pringle tubes of 8 I think, ready salted, salt and vinegar, barbque and sour cream but can't remember the price sorry!

@CornishGem1975 I’m glad to hear that as no one else understands! It’s horrible. We still feel quite rough 8 days since positive tests (and weren’t well a fair few days before that).
Ds is almost 17 and is stressing about the amount of school he’s missing. He’s a good boy and I just want to try and get as many nice wee things as I can for him. Being on here has really helped.

@PlainJaneSuperBrain99 try vinted - you can filter for new with tags items. Be flexible in your search terms and know what size you need from manufacturer website.

@PlainJaneSuperBrain99 my DS is the same. I usually get from either Nike or JD. If you have (or know anyone who does) either Bluelight card or student discount, they offer 10% (sometimes 20%) off for online purchases.

Black Friday was a good time, I got some cracking deals.
May be worth just buying a couple of bits to wrap then giving him money or voucher to spend in the sales

X12 secondhand books, each individually wrapped and labelled with a month. Include tea/coffee/snack and a bookmark made from a childhood photo of you both in each package

They will accept it, and gave me an address, but I will have to pay the return postage.

I just got some nice cushion sole socks at my local Asda Home store (black with coloured heel & toes). They don't come up when you search for them online but were there instore. Cotton and very reasonably priced.

Also, a friend mentioned plantar fasciitis on fb recently and people recommended the following to them to help with it (if you wanted to make up a little present bundle with the socks):

Not a bargain but if you have a problem with a Spinmaster toy make sure to get in touch with them direct as their customer service is fantastic.

@Purpleheadgirl I got that too. I actually have way more patience with Smashed Grapes than I did Candy Kittens because they're not hiding behind a fake marketing ploy, and actually making an honest admission.

@Smil3 thank you so much for sharing the gin voucher. I've really fancied it again this year but could only get it down to £21 which was a bit too much as I'm the only one that really drinks gin. I can cope with this price!

I wonder whether smashed grapes have twigged that a lot of discount codes have been used for these kits.

Feeling lucky that I received my SG tasting box and wine calendar on time after hearing what delays there are.

I got The Terrace Store football mystery box after a recommendation on here and it was rubbish. I wrote and complained and have returned it (at my expense) so am hoping for a refund if they ever receive it. It had a mug, coaster and bottle opener inside - nothing my DS would use and as our team isn't licenced with them the picture on all items was awful. Their customer services have been very nice so I was pleased but I will be steering clear of Mystery boxes in future!

I actually paid the 50% for my smashed grape box as had found it by google. It was meant to be a gift for someone who has helped me out ( I’m house bound for all of December due to a major operation). The other gift was Neom candles - ordered on 10 November and still not delivered and I’m still in the queue waiting for a response! Just hope both turn up and guess they will have to be late thank yous.

I do feel a bit sorry for Smashed Grapes - although perhaps they could have twigged earlier and pulled the promotion.

@PlainJaneSuperBrain99 it’s worth keeping an eye out on asos as they seem to have new discount codes on a regular basis.

I have had the same email from smashed grapes and I think I was one of the first to order. It is frustrating that people really went to town using the code multiple times, I only used it once as thought that was fair and will genuinely buy this as a gift if I think it’s any good when I receive mine. Although smashed grapes should have pulled the code sooner or not allowed multiple deliveries to the same address in my opinion.

Does the smashed grapes email remind anyone else of Penny making those hair things in The Big Bang Theory? Just me 😁?
I got my set early on, and it was nice enough but I love the idea. I hope they do well out of it, the wine itself wasn’t for me, I found it a bit thin, but the concept is fantastic and we had a great night trying it.
Candy Kittens are always rubbish and slow when there is an offer on, they genuinely aren’t a big team, agree they’ve not handled it as well as they might have though.
I think I’m done now, will obviously keep watching the threads to see if I need to twitch but the post is so awful at the moment Amazon is the only one I dare rely on!
