Inspired by the Christmas films thread, I wondered if you can recommend Christmas episodes of TV that are a must watch!

We always watch the Gavin and Stacey Christmas episodes. Been trying to rack my mind thinking of others.
Older DC so can watch most things.

TV always used to be great when we were growing up with Christmas episodes for most dramas and comedy's but its just not like that nowadays is it?!

The Royle Family Christmas specials are great. I love the one where Denise and Dave are hosting their parents.

I really liked the Stephen Merchant one off comedy drama ‘Click and Collect’, it had a similar feel to a Gavin and Stacy Christmas special.

The Royle Family Christmas specials are great. I love the one where Denise and Dave are hosting their parents.

This is one thing I miss at Christmas, royal family was a Christmas staple in our house.

Youngatheart00 · 13/11/2022 23:19

Another vote for all of the Royle Family Christmas specials

RIP Caroline Aherne

Two doors down and Ghosts (BBC). Not to everyone's taste, but Mr Bean. Me and my youngest watch the Simpsons, Bob's burgers, American Dad. One foot in the grave, absolutely fabulous and bottom.

Britbox has got tonnes of TV Christmas specials on if you have access to that.

The Office

AlexCabot · 14/11/2022 07:44

I always enjoy The Middle Christmas episodes.

It's an American sitcom but the portrayal of family Christmas is actually realistic and not as picture perfect as they tend to be.

MrsR87 · 14/11/2022 07:57

The Royle Family
Friday night dinner
Keeping up appearances
The bizarre of Dibley

HappyHolidaysEveryone · 14/11/2022 08:08

I love the Christmas episode of Schitts Creek. It's called "merry Christmas, Johnnie Rose" or something like that. Even if you haven't seen the rest of the series it's a really heart warmingly festive thing to watch.

Tiredmummyof3 · 14/11/2022 10:34

This is a great list! Thanks everyone! May need to look at getting brit box for this reason - can you just get a short trial of it does anyone know?

Just checked - you get a week free, and then it's £5.99 a month but you can cancel any time so you could just get it for the next couple of months!

lugeforlife · 14/11/2022 18:10

We loved the goes wrong show Christmas specials. Peter Pan had me in tears of laughter.
