I want to do some really nice food for Christmas this year.

I've done Nigella's brined turkey before and it was fab.

So looking for other luxury recipes like this.

Delia's pickled pears are lovely with goose.

I think many of the celebrity chef christmas cookbooks will have had their day this year because of the cost of their recipes. I picked up a jamie oliver christmas book at a free book exchange, and couldn't believe how expensive his recipes would be - for example, chocolate brownies containing all the usual ingredients plus maple syrup (one of the most expensive cooking ingredients), plus dried cranberries and cherries - so you wouldn't even taste the maple syrup. Pointless.

It went straight back to the book exchange.

Another vote for St Delia, the patron saint of Christmas.
Her truffle torte is very easy and very delish.

I love making this, smells like
'Christmas is coming' to me.

Nigella’s clementine cake, ham in coke, gingerbread stuffing are all winners.

Jamie gravy
Nigella yule log

Nigel Slater's cranberry and meringue parfait. You can make it ages in advance and just have it sitting in the freezer, and it is just the right amount of sweetness and sharp and not to heavy after a big dinner. We all love it.

Paul Hollywood's Christmas Chelsea buns for the leftovers . Delicious with soup.

Cuck00soup · 14/11/2022 17:10

Delia's bread sauce is the business.

Farmageddon · 14/11/2022 17:15

Nigella's chocolate fruit cake is seriously delicious. I don't even usually like fruit cake and I scoff most of it every year.

waltzingparrot · 14/11/2022 17:17

I do a couple of Jamie Oliver's flavoured butters and stir them through the carrots and brussels.

I also make Richard Beternet's Twisted Cinnamon Buns. Look amazing, dead easy.

Oh man!! I normally buy dessert but this sounds absolutely amazing! I will definitely be adding the amaretto to the cream - may have to sample it first to make sure it's ok though!

I used to do Felicity Cloake's perfect yule log. It was heavenly (and not very difficult)

Nigella's luxe macaroni and cheese (from her Christmas book)

Also her crab macaroni and cheese. I think it's in her latest book.

And her salted chocolate tart.

Seconding this. I’ve made it three times now and it’s wonderful. I’m not a fan of Christmas cake usually but I love this.
The only change I make is to use orange liqueur rather than coffee liqueur.

CountryCatLady · 15/11/2022 09:28

Gordon Ramsays Dauphinois potatoes and his beef Wellington are amazing. Well except I always end up with very rare steak, but it's because I don't sear it long enough 🤣

Not a celeb one, but a few years ago tesco mag had a salmon and beetroot terrine, was brilliant as a starter on Christmas day

MissEstherDaniel · 15/11/2022 15:09

I trialed the Nigella ham and cola in the multi cooker and it was a delicious success.

HeldAtHunPoint · 15/11/2022 16:18

Nigella’s ham in Coca Cola and Jamie O’s roast potatoes and roasted veg. Foolproof and delicious!

We also bake a Hairy Biker’s gianduia cake some years which is yummy 🤤

Another vote for Jamie Oliver get ahead gravy

I’m doing mine this weekend!

Tom Kerridge’s carrots are a labour of love and a heart attack on a plate but omg they are lush

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 15/11/2022 21:22

I was trying to find a spiced beef recipe that DH did one year - it was delicious. Did find a recipe that isn’t a celebrity one but it’s yummy - roast pork belly with star anise plum sauce from BBC Good Food.

ISeeTrees · 16/11/2022 08:09

This is a bit of a faff but I can say it's worth the effort for a special occasion.
I make the stuffing (in a loaf tin) every Christmas- sorry not too good at links! www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/roast-turkey-cranberry-wellington
This is also a decadent but amazing dessert, easy with a food processor though. If you like Reese's, you'll love it:

Jamie Oliver's vegan gravy is a favourite here with everyone, carnivores included. Make ahead and freeze.
Nigella's Clementine cake is gluten free and so delicious. I make her Yule log too.

GettingStuffed · 16/11/2022 11:58

Nigella's Christmas spiced chocolate cake, it's gluten free too.
