i spent £145 on me and the 2 kids, it will last 2 weeks, still at that much but if dh had been living with us it would probably be much higher.

will drag out the receipt and post it in a bit.

mumofmonSTARsOfBethlehem · 22/12/2007 20:03

no piss taking WWW, however, i am on my way over with eth DCs

Where do you live?

dooley1 · 22/12/2007 20:04

but no ducks on your list
I'm confused
I thought this was a xmas day food type list!!

foxinsocks · 22/12/2007 20:04

I haven't even thought about food after Christmas Day. I just assumed the shops would be open or we could live off turkey for a bit.

FlossALumpOfPud · 22/12/2007 20:05

food and wine today cost me about 220. I am horrified. Especially as meat wise I only have one 17 quid turkey, a 12 quid ham and some steak and kidney... Oh and prawns and hams... Not good.

I was also stocking up on bits as I have been skint (not being paid properly ) and not done a proper shop for ages.

MABS · 22/12/2007 20:06

about £350, and we arent even eating here on Christmas day!

jenk1 · 22/12/2007 20:27

Hello, my ducks were from farm shop, as was joint of beef!

coldtits · 22/12/2007 22:45

Oh WWW they are wonderful. Just so ... sumptious. Like a Charles Dickens type feast.

5goldrings4MONKEYBIRDs · 22/12/2007 23:32

what I'm loving about www's lists is

a. the zero quantities (what's that all about?

b the fact that every second item is a bottle of wine or a quails egg

It rocks!

WideWebWitch · 23/12/2007 08:00

ha ha,the zero quantities are where I've taken something out of my basket. So i.e I replaced one type of Champagne with another and decided we didn't need flapjacks

SleighlyMadSanta · 23/12/2007 08:12

I have spent £20 more than normal on my weeks shop - which will last a week.

I still have to pick up my meat from butchers thought which will probably be £10 more than normal.

needmorecoffee · 23/12/2007 09:23

what do quails eggs taste like and what does one do with them?
Gonna have to post my list now...

spent about £200 but that's our normal shopping for about 2 weeks, lots of goodies, and I bought a lot of things to take to my mums house as we're having dinner there this year, so I bought the meat and some wine and choccies and things and also got some pressies in among that £200, so not too bad really

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 23/12/2007 10:06

seeing other peoples lists or seeing what they have in the trolley at the checkout is always odd cos i think well i dont buy any of those things

www buys organic things that i didnt even kno coudl be organic

needmorecoffee · 23/12/2007 11:44

I think you can get an organic version of everything, even junk food
We buy organic if we can, then local as preference. I cook everything (apart from choccie bars and crisps) from scratch so organic isn't more expensive for us. In fact, our local box shceme is way cheaper than even the non-organic supermarket veg.
boys sometimes ask for meat substitutes like veggie sausages but they are expensive and I don't like them verey much.
Our crimbo meal is the same as the roast dinner I do. Roast pots, parsnips, squash with nut roast, gravy peas and brocolli. Doing vegan chocolate cheesecake for pud as only DH and me like crimbo pud.
Reminds me, will buy some breadsticks.

glaskham · 23/12/2007 12:06

well i spent £96 in tesco....an extra £30 in boots (but that includes 2 wks of nappies for dd aswell as lots of fruity treats for the kids for the next month)....and then DH collected my meat from the butcher and veg from the veg shop for xmas day....that along came to £50 (just for 2 adults, a 3yo and an 18mth old)....but i'm hoping we'll have plenty of meat left to cover sandwiches for a week after xmas, and for a curry on boxing day.

so without the nappies it cost me about £165 for a weeks xmas shopping and a months worth of snacks for the tiddlers.....adding it up i'm wishing we'd just gone to my mums like in the past....and to add to that it was DS's 3rd bday on friday and we spent £50 taking him out for a meal at his fave chinese restaurant!!
