Please tell me about the books you're buying as gifts for adults. Am looking for gift inspiration for adult sons with various interests (but not sport)

I bought a lovely book from tk maxx about food culture in Tokyo. It's kind of a travel/photography book for my adult ds.
Can't remember the title though sorry!

Buying my dh the new Gino D’Campo book - he’s been watching the TV series. Buying my sister the new Mary Berry one.

Fiction or non fiction?
Non fiction I've got Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall which was recommended kn another thread
Animal, Mineral, Vegetable by Barbara Kingsolver
And Morville Hours about landscaping a house in Shrewsbury

Considered Animals In Translation by Temple Grandin which I have read and is good

Got a good range of fiction for people too.

AD3000 · 11/12/2021 21:39

Non fiction please @Scout2016, sadly they hardly ever read fiction

Some great suggestions so far, thanks. And some I fancy for myself too!

Dave Grohl and Bob Mortimer autobiographies for DH. All other books I've bought (or received) have been fiction.

And another vote for freakonomics, that was great

10littlepirates · 11/12/2021 21:55

I've just bought "there is nothing for you here" by Fiona Hill as a gift for someone. I haven't read it myself but they really want to.

AD3000 · 11/12/2021 21:55

Interests include history, philosophy, films, politics, popular type science, music, religion and some biographies. No interest in sport, fiction, poetry, celebrity stuff.
