Can I change the name of who it's from when I transfer it?

Father Christmas surely does not give money regardless of whether the child believes or not?

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 04/12/2021 14:09

I’m giving ds(19) money for Christmas (there’s a couple of small wrapped gifts too).. you’ve just inspired me to write “from Santa” as the message! Xmas Grin
That’ll get him back for paying me back for some bits I picked up for him that included paracetamol with “for drugs” in the subject line! Grin

girlmom21 · 04/12/2021 14:09

Does he have a £100 limit for Christmas or has he specified the amount?

He knows Santa doesn't exist either way.

Gilly12345 · 04/12/2021 14:16

I would be telling him that Father Christmas cannot give that much due to all the children in the world he has to buy for.

£100? I think a talk is needed about greed.

How do the elves make money?

Naijamama · 04/12/2021 14:24

I think he might be better getting cash (providing everyone is happy with this as a gift). International transfer fees from the north pole are horrendous, they'd eat into that £100 quite a bit.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 04/12/2021 14:47

Have you got a Monopoly set, if so use one of the 100 notes from there and put it in an envelope.

Tell him that's what they use at the North Pole.

If you going to lie about Father Christmas you might as well go the whole hog (or is that reindeer?) and lie about the currency he uses too.

I feel really sad that a child of 10 wants cash rather than presents.

BlankTimes · 04/12/2021 15:07

I'd wonder what he wanted the £100 for.

It's rare for specific items to be priced at £100, if he wanted it to buy something for himself.

Has he heard about another child his age receiving £100 for Christmas and thought he'd like to be the same?

Pickles89 · 04/12/2021 16:25

The thought of Father Christmas doing bank transfers has drained all remaining Christmas spirit from me.

Yup.

As much as 90% cut I've heard.
Explosivefarts · 04/12/2021 17:02

If that’s what he wants Santa would bring that here. I would say Santa transferred the money to me and I would transfer it to him.

...or...you could say no...?

NynaeveSedai · 04/12/2021 18:21

Jeez if my son asked for this he'd get a raised eyebrow and a firm no!

Peanutmnm · 04/12/2021 18:26

FC makes toys....he's not a bank.

Onatree · 04/12/2021 18:31

A 10 year old asking for cash from Santa does not believe in Santa.

Elieza · 04/12/2021 18:52

That’s just cold!

Elves make toys. Everyone knows that. Unless Father Christmas has been watching the film ‘catch me if you can’ and printing out his own money in a printing press in his back room I think dc should be told no.

However mum and dad will consider his request for cash from them to dc. If he’s lucky.

Darn it, that was supposed to quote Hoppinggreen's north pole dancing post
starsparkle08 · 04/12/2021 20:58

My autistic son is 10 and definitely believes , I think it’s sad to ruin it just because they have reached a certain age .

I would put the cash in a special card from Father Christmas . I would choose a moon pig card as then you don’t have to worry about him recognising hand writing .

shivawn · 04/12/2021 20:59

It's up to you whether Santa gives money in your house or not! I have no idea what a Go Henry account is so can't help you there sorry!

Comefromaway · 04/12/2021 21:04

Father Christmas delivers presents other people have bought. He just provides the stockings.

I bet he's known a while about Santa. I don't see anything wrong with cash gifts - my son has asked for cash since he was about 13 (not just cash though), and it will be his main present this year as he likes to choose his own things. But I do have other things under the tree for him to open up - a couple beanies, earphones etc.
