If you can, stretch to the Air Pods Pro they are AMAZING. Doesn't need to be the latest model only just launched as they don't really have anything extra that the previous edition don't, but the Pros DO have extra worthwhile features compared to just AirPods.

He sounds outdoorsy. How about a good outdoor jacket or really good gloves - maybe some super-warm but quite fine gloves, like mechanics' gloves (DS1 is very outdoorsy and often asks for these) or a really good hat with ear-warmers. Or some really good wellies or waterproof boots.

And a ticket to Diggerland to indulge his tractorlust?

Mine has some of these interests but I still struggle! There's only so much hot sauce and guitar related paraphernalia you can buy a man.

This year he's getting a new rucksack because he needs one, a bliss galaxy projector because I think he'll think it's fun, and a small metal puzzle to add to his collection of the same.

Exactly! I had one exactly the same, I bought him at different times-

Flight simulator, he loved it
Flight in A Tiger Moth, realised too late that it's an open cockpit and he had a real fear of exposure! He went however and was so thrilled he bought the expensive photo and then the video of the whole flight.

Neither me or DH have anything that we particularly want. I have got him some hotel chocolat, he has bought me something small and we are going to treat ourselves to a new big tv as a joint present from Santa.

Mine is impossible to buy for and literally just had his 40th birthday so I'm exhausted for presents. And what does he do? Bounds downstairs yesterday in his lovely new jumper that just arrived from Howies, it's really lovely, so lovely. THREE WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS, why couldn't he ask me to get it for him?

I could have literally put him in the bin but he looked so pleased with it.

I'm the type of husband you are describing, I just don't like stuff. DW bought me a cheap blender 20 years ago and it's probably still the best gift she's ever given me. Also a minature multitool for my keyring was fab.

This year she's getting me a crossbow pistol (or killing me off, either way she needs to close browser windows).

A battery chainsaw is loads easier to use than a petrol one, if his is old. If he coesn't have an impact driver then it's way better than a drill for putting screws in. A battery reciproacting saw is always dead handy.

I feel your pain. I have got my DH a magnetic wrist band (brilliant idea from a mumsnet thread) maybe a workman apron to keep his tools in when fixing stuff outdoors. Sorry not really that inspiring but will watching for more interesting ideas I can use. Good luck op

How about a Fiskar axe/gift set? My DH has been after one for years but we don't have that sort of garden!

Yes we're like this too. He is disinterested in receiving gifts himself (plus has a Christmas birthday) and has not got the imagination to get me something pretty/interesting I'd like and so a couple of years ago we settled on a standing order to the food bank and giving each other minimal tokens like nice chocolate or socks. It's acceptable, and I now buy my own treats with my Christmas money (rellies abroad have long give up on posting parcels). DH's parents still give him occasional clothes (he has an outdoorsy job) but even those don't wear out fast enough.

I’m getting mine a beehive for solitary bees (basically a glorified bug hotel). One year I bought him a squirrelbuster bird feeder for his birthday and that’s still going strong and gives us both a lot of pleasure. I’m also tempted by a hedgehog shelter.
