http://www.montezumas.co.uk/ Montezuma's

I first heard about them yonks ago in GHK mag when it told the story of the young couple who gave up their city type jobs to make good chocolate - I think it's loverly!!

jennifersofia · 10/12/2007 20:33

Check out Booja Booja. They do theirs in lovely hand painted eastern european wooden boxes. I think they are fair trade.

FrannyandZooey · 10/12/2007 20:33

ProjectIcarus · 10/12/2007 20:35

The chocola people put me off on their about us page.

FandZ

They have an ethical statement on their website, although do not use the ft logo they seem to be very interested in the provenance of their ingredients.

CatIsSleepy · 10/12/2007 20:36

eek! £200 seems a little steep for a cake...

FrannyandZooey · 10/12/2007 20:38

yea I just found the 'fairly traded' statement - seems good to me

thanks all

ps but I do have a bit of a thing about 'logo' type officialdom.

A good friend is an organic market gardener, he specialises in chilies and herbs love chillies but could not previously display a the required logo as he cannot justify the £k per year for the right to do so.

FrannyandZooey · 10/12/2007 20:43

all the stuff I want to buy on Montezuma's is out of stock

green & blacks do several delicious boxes

they are not 100% fair trade but have a decent approach IMO (despite being owned by Cadburys)
