DD 2 9th Jan, is not really a "toy" playing child, prefers being outside.
Is very tomboyish.

I was thinking of a baby which she could feed, change nappy etc....
also thinking about lego or duplo?

Dont want to spend an awful lot as she has a great life, has a horse, and goes to loads of activitys and lets be honest knows jack shit about wether its xmas or not!

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated

Ta very much x

The best gifts dd has had were a baby Annabel, a toy stroller and a toy kitchen. The kitchen gets played with every day (she's 2.9 now & got it last Xmas).

Beauregard · 01/12/2007 20:15

My dd2 is the same and we have bought her a little tikes car, peppa pig playhouse and a toddlers drawing board from ELC.

DD, 22 months also not a toy playing person, getting a kitchen, asked rest of family to provide the food.

lilymolly · 01/12/2007 20:42

at play group she does not really play with the kitchens, mainly wants to play with my friends real life babies
thats what made me think about a real life doll

Its small world play stuff from ELC, farm, fair, police stn etc...all folds away into a playmat, she plays for ages with it everyday.

joyfulspike · 01/12/2007 20:49

DS is 2 today! We're getting him a B I G floor puzzle, couple books and the money that was left from the xmas club is going in his bank account. The rellies will get him loads of toys, so he won't miss out. I think after today, we'll miss the room though.....

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 01/12/2007 20:50

Does she have one of these www.letterbox.co.uk/outdoor_fun_games_cat12/Fun_and_Games_cat197/pop-up-play-tunnel-code_6779.html

or

www.thekidswindow.co.uk/html/results2.asp

This might be a bit much though

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 01/12/2007 20:52

aaaargh - ignore those last two links - will try again

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 01/12/2007 20:55

Here's the first thing www.letterbox.co.uk/mroi/index.pl?type=view&prodcode=5159

The second thing was battery powered bright pink batterry powered ride on car - a snip at £159 - probably not what you were thinking of

lilymolly · 01/12/2007 20:56

small world plays stuff sounds good lulurose

i guess the message is not to buy her much really!

she has a pram which she loves.
I will buy her a few books and small puzzles I think, and will have a trip to ELC

dd ( who currently plays 24/7 with my old doll - no arms- or a Tesco 79p doll) is getting a decent doll to torment look after

lilymolly · 01/12/2007 21:02

jajas, she nearly 2 and yes we have had a shetland pony for the last 4 years which fortunatly turned out to be perfect for dd to ride on.

Pony costs money to look after hence why I am not spending much on dd! she already has had a hat and saddle bought for her over the summer.

try not to be so sceptical

lillymolly, what age can they start riding? Would love ds to learn to ride.

lilymolly · 01/12/2007 21:10

me too jajas I was 23!

DD started "sitting" on pony when she could sit up

when she was about 14 months she got a little saddle with a handle on the front and one us held the pony and the other held dd.

at about 20 months dd got some balance and pony is good as gold, so we let go of dd and lead pony around field and dd just bobs around! she loves it.

that said she has not been on her pony for a few months, I dont force her, and she sometimes sits on my horse when I am riding for a couple of minutes.

we have always had pony and she is kept at home, so for us it is not extra expense for dd to ride. If you are a non horsey family, i think children need to be about 4 to go to a riding school.
