DD 2 9th Jan, is not really a "toy" playing child, prefers being outside.
Is very tomboyish.

I was thinking of a baby which she could feed, change nappy etc....
also thinking about lego or duplo?

Dont want to spend an awful lot as she has a great life, has a horse, and goes to loads of activitys and lets be honest knows jack shit about wether its xmas or not!

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated

Ta very much x

I have a welsh cob sect d, 8 year old, black gelding called strom 14.1hh

He is bomb proof to ride, but will try to have you if you piss him off!

The shetland Ginny is about 25- 30 yr old strawberry roan, mare with 2 wall eyes!
both at home which makes life so easy. Dont think I could cope if they were at livery.

my dd justs needs to look out of window and she sees them, but I am very carefull not to push her into it though, I am def not a pushy mam!

roll on pony club.............

you actually find you do less with them to be honest cos they are at home!

when I was at livery, it was more of a social life, and at home I am on my own, so sometimes i back out of riding cos noone is pushing me!

that said, it is lush to sit in the garden in the summer and the horses stand at the fence, turning them out in your pjs and mucking out at night when lo in bed!

not had chance to ride in over a week though due to dp out at work all the time and have no one to look after dd!

last year when dd was 23 months she got a keyboard (elc) - also from grandparents an easel and a mini trampoline. All these have been great successes.

As she likes being outside - how about a wendy house ?

Meant to add - we moved into a new house when dd was 21 months and inherited a wendy house in the garden which dd loved from the word go (she had a toy kitchen for her 2nd birthday which is in there).

Lilymolly - now I have horse envy .

I have an Arab-Connemara cross but he's pensioned off with navicular so haven't ridden in 2 years. Your dd sounds fab - I'd love mine to be confident riding but Dh isn't at all keen.

Dd will be 2 beginning of feb. For christmas she is having a wooden train set and a wheelybug.

I think granny will buy play food/ duplo.

She is having a wooden farm and animals for birthday though.

Her favourite game at the moment is playing shopping - without props (other than invisible apples LOL) so I don't think we'll bother with a play shop.

She likes her dolls buggy, and playing with pans too.

yogimum · 02/12/2007 07:47

whats a wheelybug?

CharlieAndLolasMummy · 02/12/2007 08:22

If you honestly feel she has enough stuff, then don't worry about getting her more!

A few little things to open is absolutely enough at this age. My dd is 2.4, knows all about christmas and presents and so on (she has a big brother), and she is getting for Christmas, in total the following:

a giggling lola doll (6.99)
Some Shirley Hughes books off ebay
a felt crown (knitted by me from my large stash)
A small Elmer purse

Total cost of her xmas is thusly about £13.

They don't NEED lots at this age. Don't feel pressurised into getting more and more stuff. If she's a tomboy (like my dd), why not get her some little matchbox cars or similar?

mintydixcharrington · 02/12/2007 08:27

my dd2's fav toy is a box of plastic farm animals. she spends ages picking out the sheep, or the chickens or whatever. We've added a bit of excitement by adding a couple of tigers and an elephant in there too (2 in jan)

EachPeachPearMum · 02/12/2007 20:30

this is a wheelybug!

Its a ride on toy.

yogimum · 02/12/2007 20:41

I've seen those before. They had them in a hotel we stayed at in Cornwall. DS was too little then. They are sooo cute!
