I have, but only (a) because it gives me an (entirely false) sense of co took over my own life
, and (b) because most of my siblings live scattered around the country, and last year it was a huge pain in the arse trying to ship already-bought presents around by courier. I also have teeny house with no storage, and boomer parents rattle around in nice 5-bed pile with multiple empty rooms. So lots of presents are going up to their house soon, to await collection by siblings at various points later in the year. Out of sight, out of mind
So far I’ve got some book sets and tops for my first lot of toddler nephews (tops from JL January sale, v cute); and some alcohol for their parents. Second set of niblings are getting too old for toy and book gifts ! So they will get Nintendo games or Amazon vouchers closer to the time. Alcohol for their parents too
Not sure yet about my mum and dad. I may wait and send them a hamper from somewhere in December. I’m aiming to do everything I can to avoid the rush of Nov/Dec and sending loads of boxes by post.
Planning to give teachers bottles of Prosecco this year to make it easy. I also have 6-7 unused clear hollow plastic tree baubles which I’m going to use as token presents for DD’s main friends, with a scrunched and a lip balm in each.
I’ve been whittling down my to buy list in recent years which has been a relief, but I haven’t perfected the Christmas present buying yet. One day... Every year my aim is to get all the presents for everyone else done and organised by the end of October so that I can enjoy the Christmassy atmosphere and build up in November and December, and just focus on getting stuff for DP and DD.
Every year I almost get there, and then fail miserably and end up running around in the last few days before Christmas, posting things recorded delivery, stressing and delivering cards by car on Christmas Eve 🤦♀️
