Title says it all really. I have bought a few things but wonder whether I am missing something obvious..... Thanks!

My dd's (4) favourite toy is her bike, closely followed by her scooter.

She also loves baby Annabel.
She got a leapster last year (aged 3) which she loves and still plays with lots.

pollywollybauble · 14/11/2007 00:25

duplo, trainset, dress up things, trampoline, colouring, dot to dot and other activity books, stickers

Eddas · 14/11/2007 07:42

all things girly. Make up(not MY choice to give her this btw and mostly she just carries it around, bless) jewellery, handbags, playshoes, mobile phones(old ones or play, she's not fussed!).

And generally anything pink

amidaiwish · 14/11/2007 08:00

DD1 is 3.5, she's not overly into pink (yet) but loves her leap pad and keeps asking for easy peasy keyboard for christmas (she's always on the internet)

she likes lego
she likes her wooden kitchen
trampoline
scooter

Twirl · 14/11/2007 15:26

Some new ideas, thanks everyone!
bluenosesaint, can your 4 year old ride a bike (I take it she has stabilizers?)? My DD loves her scooter but is quite lazy when it comes to peddeling herself...
DD has said she wants a furreal/snuggle-kins/pet doctor animal but I suspect she will be obsessed for an hour and then will never play with it again so I'm trying to avoid getting one. Anyone have one?

magnetix (under supervision)
wooden beads on necklaces etc
elc fairy wooden playset
rosepetal cottage and chairs/washing machine etc
wooden chess board in wooden box

all three of my children think the above are great (2,4,7)

my son is obsessed by puzzle books (maps, routes to take) etc like antony ant, pirate usbourne one etc

Twirl · 14/11/2007 16:47

ooo I like the fairy elc thing! Does your DD play with it on her own or do you need to play too?

DD ( just 3 ) loves her Fifi house and characters
Dress ups
Cooker/Washing machine
and her garage and her cars

The one that she will play with on her own for the longest period is her garage and cars - she will line them all up, then park them, then line them all up and then park them and then line them all up..........

bluenosesaint · 14/11/2007 23:56

Hiya twirl.

Yes she can ride a bike, and no she doesn't have stabilizers.

She told daddy to take them off this summer because "i'm a big girl and i don't need them anymore" ...and off she flew! She is physically very confident and doesn't mind bumping. When she falls off her bike she just gets up, dusts herself off and gets back on ...she seems to just bounce!

She DOES have an older sister which i think helps

Shitemum · 15/11/2007 00:00

I was going to get my 4yo DD a dollhouse for xmas but now i'm too broke....

casbie · 15/11/2007 08:43

look in the paper for dolls houses...

very cheap and often the owners are quite willing to bargin just to get rid!

: )

manchita · 15/11/2007 09:02

My dd loves Polly Pocket, painting/drawing, lego, dressing up and her train set

BibiThree · 15/11/2007 09:11

DD's favourite is her hair dressing set from the ELC. A little case with hairdryer, comb, curling tongs, mirror etc. Daddy regualrly has to play hairdressers with her!

hayCHingleBells · 15/11/2007 09:14

polly pocket
hair accessories - doing mummys or sister hair
music and dancing (makarena/time warp/sugarbabes)

DD's absolutely most played with thing is her babies. Baby Annabel, plus assorted dolls, plus pram/cot/highchair/car seat etc, plus nappies/clothes/dummy/bottles etc. She is desperate for a boy baby born for Christmas.

This is probably followed by her collection of jewellry, play shoes and dressing up clothes.

She is also getting quite into DS's collection of playmobil and we have got her a playmobil doll's house off Ebay. She has just last night rediscovered a Furreal kitten that PIL bought her when she was a baby.

bozza · 15/11/2007 09:36

DD is like that doodle with the handbag and carrying odd items around it. It can contain a poppy, a plastic jar of peanut butter and a dice, for example. She has lots of bags but I have bought her a tinkerbell one for Christmas.

piximon · 15/11/2007 09:49

My DD1 is 3 and Disney Princess mad. I saw this offer which I thought was pretty good (works out £2.50 a doll so cheapest I could find) and will keep her occupied for hours. They also have a half price deal on a Cinderella Carriage with doll or Ariel set.

She also loves playing with DS1's garage and cars and putting as many little things into as many bags and staggering around the house with them all lol.

But I know her favourite toy this year will be whatever my DTs get for their 1st birthday a few days after xmas sigh...

Nbg · 15/11/2007 09:53

I got my dd, who is now 4, a really cheap set of dressing up shoes last christmas and she still loves them now.

She also has a thing for cars but she likes to put them in her fifi cottage and put them to bed and things

So anything make believe really.

bozza · 15/11/2007 09:53

DD loves princesses but never plays with her princess dolls.

Nbg · 15/11/2007 09:54

piximon, my dd does that with the bags too

piximon · 15/11/2007 10:15

lol bozza you should send them this way, DD1 often has to rugby tackle DS1(4) for them first. Last week she'd hidden his fave car under her potty as she knew he wouldn't look there, so he played with her Ariel instead.

casbie · 15/11/2007 10:19

love it! all this gender stereotyping that the toy manufacturers come up with and children just love playing with anything that interests them. DS will play ponies and fairies if the others, both DDs don't want to play stars wars or castles.
