@BadgerFace I’ve got one for my 7yo dd. A slightly different one I found on offer a while ago. I asked the same question and was told they are perfect for that age group.

Daisy829 · 20/05/2021 19:31

I’ve just checked it was the sweet shake one I’ve got. It was £18.74 on amazon a few months ago.

Scanner20 · 20/05/2021 20:00

@Daisy829 yes She got a kitty corn one for £14 and it's lovely, so soft! Your dd will love that I'm sure

BadgerFace · 20/05/2021 20:39

Thanks all, I like the look of the shake one but am tempted by the great saving on the hair one right now... Would a 9 year old be too old? Maybe I can get one of each between both my girls...

Scanner20 · 20/05/2021 21:00

@BadgerFace if she enjoys surprise toys or soft toys I'm sure she will like it.

Scanner20 · 20/05/2021 21:02

The entertainer do some colour your own rainbocorn and some craft sets, have a couple of items on my buy list

I am pretty sure she will still like these things at 15... Grin

Daisy829 · 20/05/2021 21:16

Fab thanks @Scanner20

I’ve just had a mooch on the Oliver Bonas sale page. Some nice bits, jewellery, card cases, key rings, pouches.

Daisy829 · 20/05/2021 21:23

I’ve just looked on Amazon and the sweet shake surprise monkeycorn is down to £17ish. Tempted for my 7yo niece

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 20/05/2021 22:10

Hello, hope you don't mind me butting in. I was a frequent attendee at the bargain thread last year Grin and now a convert to bargain hunting for Christmas (obviously why I'm here in May 😂) I have two young boys 1 and 3. Just trying to gauge how you pick presents in advance, that they haven't specifically asked for. So are you buying bits now that you have a hunch they will like (like the last few messages) then pick an item they have askedtou or father christmas for nearer the time? I have a few things in mind for my eldest who will be 4 by christmas but live in fear he will go off it, or want something else 😬

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 20/05/2021 22:13

Just realised I'm probably being too vague for no reason. Eldest is currently into paw patrol. He has a few bits like the patroller and some of the cars and pups. I have seen bits reduced but worry he might have moved on to transformers or playmobil, and of course lego or something else by christmas. How fast do kids go with these things, I have no idea 😂

Daisy829 · 20/05/2021 22:27

I tend to buy stocking fillers/ things I think they will like if I s something on ale. I save about half of their budget for stuff they have asked for. My kids also have a lot of family who buy for them so I share out their list with them. I’m done for my 2 really now except for bits they actually ask for.

SpamIAm · 20/05/2021 22:40

I don't buy character toys or that sort of thing until closer to the time (1 and 4 year old).

PattyPan · 20/05/2021 22:43

Ecookshop have got some good deals on Christmas tableware among other things, including 50% off some bits of the Spode Christmas tree and portmeirion holly & ivy stuff www.ecookshop.co.uk/ecookshop/m/christmas-tableware.asp
If only I had somewhere to put it all Grin

ConsuelaHammock · 21/05/2021 00:56

Hedgehog Sylvanian family is £10.30 on amazon atm

KittyKatChonky · 21/05/2021 01:10

I bought my sons birthday and Christmas stuff for this year in January but I’m still going to watch this thread for bargains.

Daisy829 · 21/05/2021 06:58

@PattyPan thank you. I’ve just purchased Holly & Ivy wine glasses (one for me & one as a gift) & the tea caddy for mil. They look cute.

Vebrithien · 21/05/2021 11:41

Not sure if it has already been mentioned only just found this thread but Boots have 90% off their leftover Christmas gifts. Just got a brilliant BBC eco bathroom kit for £4.20

In their clearance section, they also had lots of the No7 Wizard of Oz products, really reduced. £2.50 for an eyeshadow palette, or highlighting block. I got th advent calendar with them, and they are really nice products.

Anpanmum · 21/05/2021 11:57

Hi all, beginner here, but would like to join in.

Some Polly pockets are cheap on Amazon at the moment.

Also TK maxx & Home sense do their clearance sale in store. I bought nice goodies for £1-£4.

Brain box the world down to a fiver on Amazon. These are decent gifts and easy to wrap!

Everybodysaycheese · 21/05/2021 13:01

I think I need to stop searching for Christmas bargains for a while... have got a lot for my two already and its only May! Haul so far including the scrunch buckets and an orchard tree toy each thanks to this thread amongst other bits I've taken a fancy to!

KittyKatChonky · 21/05/2021 13:21

I know every tk maxx is different but I got this kitchen for £6. There were quite a few bargains when it reopened again after months this year.

@Anpanmum and @KittyKatChonky Thank you for the tips, going to have a nosy in TK Maxx :-)

FilthyforFirth · 21/05/2021 20:41

Always worth looking at Ollie and Nic outlet. I got the tan backpack from this thread last year and I love it!

Thankyou PattyPan I’ve just bought 7 of these side plates for £3 each, if I stick some biscuits/cakes on them and put them in some lovely cellophane they’ll make great presents for teachers/work colleagues, bargain!! Thank you
