We tend to have ours at 1pm, and even though it's at lunch time, we call it Christmas Dinner.

OP posts:

4/5pm ish.

We have croissants and pain au chocolate first thing, then bacon and sausage rolls around lunchtime.

StCharlotte · 17/12/2020 20:21

2pm here. Then a cheese board on the one day of the year you can legitimately use the term "supper" Xmas Smile

skylarkdescending · 17/12/2020 20:22

4pm usually. Except if DH gets his way then it's 3pm. I like it later as we eat in the conservatory which feels more festive in the dark, lit by candles.

FatGirlShrinking · 17/12/2020 20:23

Same as you OP.

  • We have a light breakfast, crumpets or a danish.
  • Lunch at 1pm
  • Dinner 6ish - Leftovers, pickles and nice bread usually but this year we're doing a baked Camembert with fresh baked bread and other dippy things
  • evening will be Xmas chocolate and Xmas films
bloodywhitecat · 17/12/2020 20:23

When it's ready! (Usually around 2/3pm)

PhylisPrice · 17/12/2020 20:23

1/2pm 😊 works for us and the little monsters!

Olivetreekeeper · 17/12/2020 20:28

6ish. I like it when it's dark outside so we can light candles and feels really festive! We have porridge for breakfast and usually baked ham and bits for a lighter lunch.

CatVsChristmasTree · 17/12/2020 20:32

Around 3. We have a nice brunch type breakfast, snack a bit around lunch and then dinner and pudding can take an hour or two.

Scbchl · 17/12/2020 20:33

5ish

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 17/12/2020 20:34

Somewhere between 4 & 6 pm.

dementedpixie · 17/12/2020 20:36

6ish probably. Have never had it at lunchtime

SisyphusDad · 17/12/2020 20:36

Two hours later than I first say it will be. Xmas Biscuit

timetest · 17/12/2020 20:37

2.30 to 3 ish.

Happytentoes · 17/12/2020 20:38

For preference , around 5 pm, but elderly MIL prefers to eat early so I am aiming at 1.30 this year. Canapés to start, main around 1.30-2 pm & dessert / cheese later after a long rest.
Breakfast for DH & I will be toasted panettone and fizz, & coffee.
Nothing else planned but if anyone is hungry there will be options.

Eekay · 17/12/2020 20:43

1.00ish when all the kids were at home. Nowadays we have it 7.00 p.m-ish.
I do a naice brunch for all the wider family so I only have to prep/find oven space for the roast and eleventy billion sides for a small number of us at home in the evening.
About the only piece of wisdom I've accrued with age.

HazeyJaneII · 17/12/2020 20:47

Sometime between 1 o'clock and 5 o'clock depending on level of chaos during the day

toomanyplants · 17/12/2020 20:50

Normally around 3
With Liz in the background 👑

pettyprudence · 17/12/2020 20:50

5/6pm-ish but this year who knows as I have to actually cook it for the first time in my life!

nosswith · 17/12/2020 21:23

About 1. So it is complete and washing up done before the Queen's broadcast at 3, which is non-negotiable.

AnnaMagnani · 17/12/2020 21:30

When I make it. Will be long break between main and pudding.

Scanner20 · 17/12/2020 21:30

Usually 1/2pm and don't always have pudding straight away have that around 3ish. We don't really eat much the rest of the day, graze on chocolate throughout the day. Few nibbles around by Late morning to pick at with a drink.
Last Christmas we ate at 5pm and I did like it but I like a lazy afternoon after dinner so prefer lunchtime. We don't have a big breakfast or a starter.

wellthisisnewandconfusing · 17/12/2020 21:33

When it's ready, I refuse to be pinned down to a schedule! There's no shortage of snacks if you get hungry while you're waiting!

YewandOak · 17/12/2020 21:35

When it's ready.
Usually between 12-6pm

BettyOBarley · 17/12/2020 21:35
