Where the bloody hell can I buy a sugar mouse?

I just want one measly sugar mouse for my niece's stocking, but I can't seem to find them. I thought Fortnum and Mason usually had them but no dice. Has anyone seen them anywhere?

Ebay?

Brinn · 16/12/2020 12:00

They're so easy to make! Probably easier than finding them atm

TFSRM · 16/12/2020 12:00

You can get them from aquarterof.co.uk

LittleTiger007 · 16/12/2020 12:01

I’ve just checked and Amazon have them

stripes1 · 16/12/2020 12:01

Do you have a Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop near you? I think it’s a chain, I’ve got them from there in the past for stockings.

ChristmasCookies · 16/12/2020 12:01

Amazon. Ebay.
Lots of places.
Put it into google

DameCelia · 16/12/2020 12:01

TK Maxx have them.

Fortnum and Mason definitely have them - I bought six the other day for various stockings! They’re at the counter on the ground floor past the chocolate, with the Turkish delight, marzipan fruits, etc! Smile

Oh sorry, should have said I wanted to buy it in person rather than online, as I need it by Friday. I did see the Amazon ones but they wouldn't arrive in time. @Brinn that is most intriguing though! I presume I'd need a special mould which may be no easier to source than the mouse though...

@stripes1 I thought there was one in Central London but they all seem to be in darkest south London which is a bit of a trek for me for a sugar mouse.

@DameCelia I was in our local TK Maxx on Monay and didn't see them, damn! I'll check another branch though!

OH @RatHammock you star, thank you! I went into the St Pancras branch looking for them the other day and asked if they'd be in the flagship branch, and the guy said he didn't think they'd done them this year, and as I couldn't see them on the website I assumed he was right. Brilliant!

bought some this morning in John Lewis.

RatHammock · 16/12/2020 12:46

No problem! DD10 also recommends their chocolate frogs!

VestaTilley · 16/12/2020 13:00

I made my own last year; it’s easy enough. Cheap moulds available to buy online, or just make one free hand using fondant icing. Colour with pink food colouring, add a drop of peppermint extract and stick in a string tail.

I do think some online confectioners sell them though.

EwDavid · 16/12/2020 13:09

I saw sugar mice moulds in Lakeland yesterday if that's any use?

mam0918 · 16/12/2020 13:35

I had to buy a pack of 3 off ebay and they where bloody expensive considering what they are

most of the 'ye olde sweetie shops' here have gone bust and I phoned round the others but the only do those white chocolate mice not sugar ones, was a PITA

doodlejump1980 · 16/12/2020 14:02

Thornton’s used to do them. Or a Mr Simm’s?

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 16/12/2020 14:27

Fortnum and mason always do them.

desperatehousewife21 · 16/12/2020 15:24

I really want a sugar mouse now Grin

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 16/12/2020 15:26

Are they edible? I always thought they were like marzipan decorations?

Scarby9 · 16/12/2020 15:32

Marzipan decorations are also edible.

Cooltalkin · 16/12/2020 15:38

John Lewis have them
I got some yesterday
Pink and white ( 5 or 6 ) in the pack

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 16/12/2020 15:43

@Scarby9

Marzipan decorations are also edible.
To me they are purely decorative - I can’t stand marzipan - but also because my sister makes the most amazing ‘sculptures’ out of marzipan and I can’t bring myself for eat it (she once made an amazing one of our family - so mum varnished it and kept it for ages)
