Hoping someone can help. I love reading everyone’s lists but I have no inspiration what to get my daughter. I got all her gifts out and her pile looks very sad. Does anyone have any ideas for presents or have their lists that I can look at please?
She has so far....

Little mix tickets (fingers crossed)
Converse
Echo dot
Microwave teddy thingy
Books
Watercolour paints
Board games
Bath bombs from lush
Spongebob switch game
Led strip lights
Dressing gown new pjs etc
Big versions of her favourite chocolate

She loves art but has been gifted copic markers, a light box proper paper. She already has a laptop, switch, iPad, fitbit etc.

If anyone could help that would be great

My dd is 11 and her pile is considerably smaller this year. She collects funko pop figures so has a few five nights at freddys, stranger things ones. Plus a few lego brickheadz that she enjoys building then displaying in her room.

All shes asked for is her own loaf of bread as she doesn't need anything else!

It is hard as my 8 year old will have bigger boxes but my eldest understands how much things cost and would rather a small box with a figure she really wants (that cost me £20!) Than me to go and buy stuff she doesn't need or want to bulk out her pile.

FallingStar · 13/12/2020 08:29

I think it's just what happens when they no longer get toys, the pile looks smaller each year but actually costs more!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/12/2020 08:30

I would share her whole list but I'm not sure it will help! Her favourite band is slipknot and she loves all things gothic 😂

ChristianGreysAnatomy · 13/12/2020 08:33

Christ on a bike!! By these standards I am the meanest mum on the planet. Confused Grin

TamingToddler · 13/12/2020 08:33

What about a tie dye t shirt kit? Nail varnish, some bits from smiggle for her pencil case at school? My 9 year old sister is getting a clip and climb voucher and calligraphy pen (she wants to be like Harry potter) I got one from the works for £2.
If she likes art that might be a good one.

Bikingbear · 13/12/2020 08:36

It looks a good list. But I'm with others I'd maybe add something to do, a game or even a cheap toy, juggling balls, a slinky or something like that, just to give a bit of excitement on the day.

EssexCat · 13/12/2020 08:43

@Marioodd

She will be so delighted. It’s not that I think she will be disappointed just to me the list looks a bit meh. She is so appreciative of anything. I think it’s the fact the list seems a bit grown up for me that’s all, her first year not believing and no toys
I understand this. It’s a bit sad when you suddenly realise what they want has changed and there are no toys.
2andahalfpints · 13/12/2020 08:44

Buy some nice boxes (the kind from card shop) which can be reused, clothes, tickets etc can be boxed, easier to wrap and looks more substantial

Biglumpycustard · 13/12/2020 08:51

You have definitely got wow presents on the list.

Poorlykitten · 13/12/2020 08:53

I think that’s loads personally.

UndertheCedartree · 13/12/2020 08:55

I think you've got lots of 'wow' gifts. It looks a lovely mix of different things. As they get older their presents are smaller and maybe look less impressive. I think it was about 10 I had a little chat with my DS just to say his little DS will have more presents and they'll be bigger because the things he wants now he's older are more expensive and smaller. He understood and was perfectly happy with less, smaller presents as they were things he was into. I think your DD will love what you've got her.

Okbutnotgreat · 13/12/2020 08:56

Bloody hell OP we clearly have different ideas of Wow presents, I think you’ll be fine. I have a 10 yr old too and totally get the no toys thing but your list is very generous.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/12/2020 08:58

Is that list for one child?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/12/2020 09:00

She already has a laptop, switch, iPad, fitbit etc

Bloody hell, did you say she’s 10?

Littlemissnutcracker · 13/12/2020 09:01

That's a huge amount. There is loads she can play with on the echo dot!

letsgoandtango · 13/12/2020 09:03

just to me the list looks a bit meh

Christ on a bike, I don't know about your dd but you have ridiculously high expectations! My dd10 is getting about half this, and will be super happy with it. I wouldn't dream of getting my dcs this much

Twobrews · 13/12/2020 09:05

That's a lot.
If they're getting things they genuinely would like I'd be really annoyed if mine complained about the sizes of their siblings presents compared to their own.

MrsGrindah · 13/12/2020 09:06

It’s plenty. But what about a board game for the day?

SmileyClare · 13/12/2020 09:08

Your dd has more than enough WOW presents. This is silly.

The average amount parents spend on children at Christmas is £150. You've far exceeded that (fine if you can afford it) but at least recognise she's been completely spoilt/ lavished in gifts! She is probably receiving far more than many of her friends.

santasmincepie · 13/12/2020 09:08

The list is amazing. She really doesn't need anything else.
If you are worried she will be sad that she has the smallest pile, you could put the tickets inside a box, inside another box, and another etc. It'll be fun and the suspense will mean it is more of a wow present.

Mayvis · 13/12/2020 09:09

My DD10’s whole lot probably cost the same as the Little Mix tickets and I think it’s plenty!

She doesn’t have a laptop, iPad or Fitbit either. I can’t see why a 10yr old child needs their own laptops and iPads - we have a family iPad. I’ve bought a Switch this year for my children to share.

MrJinxyCat · 13/12/2020 09:09

Honestly, your list looks great and I’m sure your daughter will be delighted, she sounds a lucky girl.

Some successes I’ve had, or have bought this year if it helps:
Fake Oodie, seems to be the cool thing this year. ‘The Comfy’ sell a junior version for younger kids.
Cuddle cushion from Dunelm, looks nice and big wrapped and great if she enjoys reading.
Simon game
Headphones
Jigsaw based on interest
Plush craft pillow, my 9 year old enjoyed making the pizza one.
Paint by sticker books
Mini sphero - grandparents have got this.

Ultimateblends · 13/12/2020 09:09

Oh my gosh op, can I be your daughter?
That is absolutely more than enough! You really don't need to add anything.
Converse? Concert tickets?! Never mind the rest!

In the kindest way possible, she honestly really does have more than enough! And more than most 10 year old! Concert tickets and converse are absolutely WOW gifts.

My DC would think every Christmas had come at once if that was the list.

You've done great.

Starheart · 13/12/2020 09:12

I think a family board game so she has something to play with all of you. Pictionary air is a good choice and is a good price in Argos .

alwayslearning789 · 13/12/2020 09:15

Hi OP...

Don't worry that you are feeling that way, its absolutely normal...

As the kids get older the pile gets smaller (but more expensive!)

That is a lovely list!

And the Concert Tickets are definitely a Wow! Present... the experience she will have and the memories you will create from that will be priceless.

As a PP said, dress it up in a nice pretty box, bows, ribbons, maybe get some Little Mix posters ( i just printed an A3 picture of the artist and it went down a treat)
