Tree decorations!

LJZRBB · 05/10/2020 21:58

I have some serious Christmas goals this year.

I have looked online at all the obvious places for Christmas tree decorations. Nothing has caught my eye.

I don’t want to pay £10 per bauble! But I also don’t want anything too cheap looking. I want them to last a few years too!

Have you got any suggestions? Somewhere between John Lewis and B&M? Grin

I want to replace everything.

Local garden centre? Then you can actually see them in person.

LJZRBB · 05/10/2020 22:03

Yes, this did cross my mind. Love a garden centre trip!

Matalan sometimes have some really nice ones, M&S usually on 3 for 2.

ArtyFartyQueen · 05/10/2020 22:05

How about TK Maxx?

LJZRBB · 05/10/2020 22:08

I’m going to have to go to the shops aren’t I? I really didn’t want to Sad

I would say garden centre as well. That's where I got some of my best decorations. Especially ones that do massive Christmas displays

Emmas85 · 05/10/2020 22:13

The Range do some really lovely decorations.

caringcarer · 05/10/2020 22:31

Every year I go to a paint a pot workshop and hand paint two georgious pottery baubles for my 2 grand children.

StCharlotte · 05/10/2020 23:25

I bought some decorations from a National Trust place last week. Wasn't paying attention. They were indeed ten pounds each Shock

The White Company does some lovely ones. I normally pick them up in Europe. Not this year Sad

CalmYoBadSelf · 05/10/2020 23:39

I have a jokey thing going with a friend and buy her the kitsch-est tree ornamnt I can find each year. The last 2 have come from Asda who have a range that goes from tasteful to so bad they are good

RevolutionRadio · 05/10/2020 23:41

The range had all theirs out last week.

Floralnomad · 06/10/2020 00:23

I got some nice ones from realChristmastrees.co.uk , much better prices than garden centres etc and seem good quality .

AlwaysLatte · 06/10/2020 00:56

I bought the Swarovski star this year and definitely going to do it every year now. A little pricier than you mention but if it's the only bauble it's worth it to start a collection.

CloudyVanilla · 06/10/2020 02:21

I'm also replacing all my decorations this year as I'm trying to make Christmas extra magical :)

Have you tried googling by theme or colour scheme if you have one? I've found Next are surprisingly cheap and look nice. The you can get a good mixed base set, and I do a mix of other decorations with just s couple of expensive fancy ones that I can't resist

Oneofeachclub · 06/10/2020 07:07

Gisela Graham decorations are beautiful and are stocked in our local garden centre. If you Google it will come up with online stockists including Amazon

recklessgran · 06/10/2020 08:44

Liberty London have some lovely ones discounted not too £££

Lovemusic33 · 06/10/2020 08:51

I have way too many tree decorations but managed to smash some of my expensive ones last year.

I also make a lot of my own, we collect pine cones and spray paint the, also make decorations out of wood slices, cinnamon sticks and orange slices (they smell amazing).

I think this year I will be going fully home made and natural rather than buying more plastic or glass.

ktsc89 · 06/10/2020 08:59

You could have cheaper filler baubles. Think I got mine from wilkos then a few fancier ones eg from H & M home, matalan, next?

peachypetite · 06/10/2020 09:01

For a few special you can't beat Liberty, then bulk out with Dunelm, Sainsburys, Next etc.

Floralnomad · 06/10/2020 09:20

@AlwaysLatte we have a friend who has gifted us the Swarovski Christmas star every year since we got married so we’ve got 30 , last year we bought an extra smaller tree just to display them .

AlwaysLatte · 06/10/2020 09:30

@Floralnomad that must look beautiful!

GoldStripes · 06/10/2020 10:07

I just got some stunning baubles from Cox & Cox, they’re not cheap but not as pricey as others I’ve seen.

They always have decent offers for new customers too, which brings the price down a lot.

For cheaper decorations, I’ve seen some lovely ones in Dunelm this year, although our local one only has a small selection at the moment.

tsmainsqueeze · 06/10/2020 18:26

I am very fussy about what goes on my tree ! , in the january sale last year i bought a few hand blown glass ones from range , each one is different .
They are really beautiful , glittery and look very expensive , i am always suprised how cheap the handblown glass ones are at the range .
Also homesense for individual , quirky designs.

SunInTheSkyYouKnowHowIFeel · 06/10/2020 18:30

Buy a few really nice ones each year, its not long before you have a really lovely collection. I agree re garden centres having nice ones.
Do you like the kitsch kind of ones? Tiger have ones that aren't too expensive. Paperchase also do them but for more money, very similar.

RWK29 · 06/10/2020 18:31

@LJZRBB This thread is so up my street it’s unreal 😂🙈 I replaced all our baubles last year and if I get my way then this year it’s the trees turn to be replaced and I have serious tree goals in mind 😂 Balsam Hill tree is the hope 😍
What colour/style of baubles etc are you looking for? Do you have a theme? 😊
