Ideas for a Fact loving child

My DS loves facts and I’m trying to think of present ideas that he would like.

He is currently watching StoryBots and keeps coming in to tell me different facts ie How many parts are in a car and how hot the sun is.

Any ideas/suggestions?

How old is he? Mine have enjoyed National Geographic Magazine subscription and Knowledge Encyclopaedia (a visual encyclopaedia) at junior school age. Also some of the top trumps (eg on animals) are full of facts and stocking filler size.

Usborne for Beginners books - there's ones on politics, economics, business, money.

Also the National Geographic books.

Guinness Book of World Records?

What about one of those interactive globes that will tell you facts about different countries and animals?

We have a board game called 'where in the world'
It's geography based, different levels etc but fiendishly difficult for adults as well.
My kids love it

I was recently given a little game called shot in the dark. It says age 12+ but depending how old your child is/how many facts they already know then it would easily be suitable. It's a great little trivia game where you answer and whoever is closest wins.. have a look I've loved playing it and I like facts!

Check out Stephen Biesty cross section books. They have such rich and interesting illustrations that you can pore over them for hours.

Also the DK Knowledge Encyclopedia books - we have dinosaurs, space and animals. Dinosaurs is most loved, especially when younger - the pictures are great.

Oh yes, just read pps and second Top Trumps too - we have heaps and they have been played with loads from around age 3 to 8.

Maps, encyclopedias, non-fiction books, history books for children, science books and the Guinness Book of Records. He could watch quiz shows, Mastermind, that sort of thing, too.

National geographic and the science museum do some great activity boxes. Lots of chance to discuss how crystals form, types of animals etc.

We got my ds a Google home to answer his many fact questions

@CountingToThree, but that only answers that particular question, whereas a book will lead to other issues around the same topic.

Mine loves the national geographic infopedia. Full of facts on all topics but not massive so you can still take it out with you.

What about a magazine subscription? Whizz, Pop, Bang, Aquila, The Week Junior, First News are all options. The Week Junior is particularly popular with my DC (8 to 12).

National Geographic do Werid but True books and annuals which are very good.
