I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it yet but today bookshop.org launched its UK site. It’s hundreds of indie/local bookstores online in one place, and was started to help them survive Amazon.

@Osquito you beat me to it, I was going to recommend bookshop.org

You can search for your local bookshop, and buy through the website and your local will get 30% of the profit (they don't handle the books, you are just supporting them.)

Or if you don't want to support a specific shop, then every shop signed up gets a tiny cut.

All the bookshops signed up get a free shopfront page where they can put personal recommendations and lists.
