Someone on the 'men who are difficult to buy for' thread mentioned a Scottish publisher, Birlinn Books and I've ordered some sporting books for BIL and DH birlinn.co.uk/ - they have all sorts of good stuff.

I recommend Hoxton Street Monster Supplies www.monstersupplies.org, for sugar dusted bogies, impacted earwax and other entertaining delicacies for stockings. The website is great fun and all proceeds go to the Ministry of Stories, a creative writing and mentoring charity for young humans.

We normally take our nephews to the pantomime every December and I'm sad to be missing it this year. I'm planning to buy them tickets to an online panto to watch with their mum and wanted to send them some treats to eat. For boys of 11 and 8 impacted earwax fudge and brain food sweets will be perfect!

I’m making letters from the Father Christmas id like to meet - he’s all excited and a bit bonkers and draws pictures of what he’s been up to. they are folded like proper old fashioned letters and sealed with a drop of wax and get really nice reviews! Thank you 😊

It’s great to support Etsy type shops but please, please think of actual real-life independent shops all around the country who are forced to close now at what should be their best time of year. Most/all of them will be offering click and collect and many of them will have spent a huge amount of time and money setting up new online stores. Families are totally dependent on this income and a huge number of small business owners aren’t eligible for the self employed support Scheme (because gvt has excluded a lot of common business set ups).
If you want small shops to still be there after lockdown, you need to support them now.
