When do you start buying Christmas presents?

As per title

In my family we all do “wish lists” of ideas of things we’d like. Random presents are not our thing! So I don’t start shopping until the lists are done.

Usually around the middle of November. Going to start a bit earlier this year though. Just incase anything happens. I don't have loads to buy though. Dont really buy for extended family.

Finished, wrapped, half way through delivering

Started in February.

It's not like I MEAN to start Christmas shopping, but from September onwards it sort of comes into my head, and if I see something that someone would like, I pick it up. So by the start of December I'll have quite a lot, then I'll actively finish with whatever else I need.

Late November.

Properly middle November but this year I've already got a couple of bits. And if I see something in July will buy it then. Probably forget where I hid it in the meantime

Usually I do it all in December but I'm badly organised and I feel like I end up buying a lot for the sake of it.

This year I've been carefyll making a list for a couple of weeks now and I've bought a few bits that were in a sale in Paperchase so that's saved me a bit.

I'll probably stop actually buying now until I get my savings out in late November or up until Mid December, but the list curating will continue.

I get the main bulk in October.

November. My DC change what they are into. I try to not get them too much as they don't need it and we don't need anymore stuff in the house. I dont buy for anyone else apart from nieces and nephews as all the adults made a pact to stop buying endless shite for each other.

Bought a few bits now. Both my girls have winter birthdays so I like to be organised.

Now I'm in a panic!

I try and wait for black Friday or the half term toy sales. I’ve started to write a list so try and look for the cheapest price. I don’t like to get stuff to early.

I keep a list in the notes in my phone of what I think people would like as and when i think of something, and start buying in probably september or october.

I havent started buying yet this year but have lots of ideas for people.

Around now. I've only bought DDs big present so far - lucky I did as it is now out of stock. I try to get it all bought by the end of Nov.

All year round. It’s like Christmas for me when I get them out to start wrapping I do keep lists but stuff slips through

December. I do mega advent calendars for parents and family so I’ve started on those now. This year I’m buying the dcs particular small antiques so I’m ebay browsing already.

As and when I see things or think of things people would like, but properly with a vengeance in late Sept/Oct as I like to have it all done by end of Nov meaning evenings in Advent are spent doing nice things with DS/watching Delia on Amazon Prime and reading Christmas books.

Last year DS was a baby, so everything was last minute and I didn’t enjoy it as much. Will start writing cards in Oct (we send a lot) ready to post in early Dec. Also spreads the cost!

I start on boxing day and shop all year round if I see things. I've been to town this morning to see what I could find. I want to get it done ASAP just because we don't know whats round the corner atm.

I usually start around this time every year, been picking things up for a few weeks now. It's always stocking filler type things for DD8 as our family sends each other lists around the end of October so can't start buying for them until then. Going to try and order things online soon though and keep things I can get from shops until closer to the time

I'm buying some animal cable protectors in a bag of ten and distributing them through family stockings, but not ordered them yet. Got my eye on a PS4, but will wait until Black Friday . I've bought DH two gifts already (camping apron, best dad type mug from DC).

I've just created and ordered a Hoffman album for my mum.

I don't know how Christmas is going to pan out, so I like to be organised presents-wise. Food, I'm not so fussed about, we don't eat traditional Christmas lunch. As long as there are pancakes and Bailey's, we're happy.

I bought a hat and gloves set in a charity shop in January, got it home and it was from Joules and certainly cost more than the two quid I paid. I also bought DD some Christmas socks which she'll get in early December,. Yesterday DH bought the adults their chocolate oranges 75p in Tesco.

Usually around September, but I got some great bargains in a sale back in April this year and couldn't resist.

I started last month.

One thing I was wondering about was I was given a pretty silk dress still with tags on which I haven't tried on, would it be cheeky to give it to a friend as a present? I know it would fit her and I can't return it. I'd just have to cut out the price tag.
