Weirdest present request?

lucysmam · 15/08/2020 19:42

I reckon this one's a bit weird...

We walked into town today & were talking about Christmas and presents. Dd1 has asked for a keyboard.

And an extension lead Grin

It does make sense so she can plug the keyboard in without interfering with other things. But, it's not exactly wrap-up-able!

Any other odd requests out there?

DD was 4 when she asked for a red dinosaur. Couldn't for the life of me find one at the time, years later I see them everywhere!

livingthegoodlife · 18/08/2020 15:30

Play mud for her schleich farm. I cut a piece of brown fuzzy felt into a splat type shape. She loved it! Cost about 50p!

A knitted frog holding a knitted cucumber.

DS asked for a Bugatti on his Christmas list Hmm some prompting later it turned out he meant a model of one.

Stompythedinosaur · 18/08/2020 21:00

A cuddly stone when dd2 was 2 kept us foxed for a while.

My DD wanted an empty box to store things in 😂

BeingLonely · 24/08/2020 18:07

My 4 year old wanted a bath mat 😔

TwizzledTurkey · 24/08/2020 18:31

Ds (aged 3) would like a cucumber and a telescope (a gold one like pirates have) Grin

AugustBreeze · 24/08/2020 18:35

Ah for the days when tomatoes and the like kept mine (now 13 and 15) happy ...

iklboo · 24/08/2020 18:38

DS wrote a letter to Santa asking for 'just anything please, I don't mind'. Helpful.

Cherryup · 24/08/2020 18:54

DS asked for a shiny red apple when he was 4, I kept dreaming that I forgot to buy the apple. I remembered it and he was thrilled with it.

lucysmam · 24/08/2020 22:26

@iklboo dd2 is similar; she'd like "surprises".

Except she's at that awkward not quite into toys, but not quite teenage, age where nothing seems quite right 🤷‍♀️

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts

Dd1 asked for bread one year. Mrs Claus baked them some chocolate tree bread. Now its featured on both girls list every year!!

Dd1 also really wanted to grow up and have a real bushy moustache. She cried when she found out only men can grow a big moustache.

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts Chocolate tree bread sounds like something DD would love. Do you have a recipe please?

A birthday not Christmas but...

DS2 asked for macaroni cheese one year. My mum bought him a tin of it. He announced that it was the most disgusting thing he had ever eaten. Homemade Macaroni cheese is still his favourite food though.
The next year he asked for a large tesco bag. He used to sit in it to watch TV HmmConfusedGrin

He's always been a little odd

WhyDoesItAlways · 24/08/2020 23:01

These are hilarious. DS3 asked for "green" last Christmas but would specify what he wanted to be green so I ended up buying stuff I thought he would like and used green wrapping paper. He was happy as Larry.

DS asked last year for a dinosaur that is 'taller than him'. That was quite hard to find...
For his bday this year he wanted a trophy with his name on it. He absolutely loved it!
I am eagerly awaiting this year's Christmas request Grin

Sarahbeans · 25/08/2020 00:11

One year my daughter asked for peanuts. Another year she asked for a large cardboard box. One she could get into. As she asked Father Christmas directly, and he said yes, that was a bloody hard one to source! These days you can buy massive toy cardboard boxes, but we just got one of those massive white ones from Aldi / Lidl and my daughter had months of fun decorating it and turning it into a den.

DD2, age 2.5 years... Toy Numbers. We took a guess and got magnetic numbers. Luckily right.

Akindelle · 25/08/2020 00:30

DH once asked for a tiny loo brush. It’s six inches tall and he displays it on the shelf in his office. Another year he wanted a bus ticket from 1951.

We ended up with a pilates ball! She loves it and was very happy. It was such a weird request but she still plays with it every day.

aToadOnTheWhole · 25/08/2020 12:31

When DS was 2 all he wanted for Christmas was a warm sausage roll, from Gregg's. Gregg's aren't open on Christmas day. Ended up getting him one on Christmas Eve, putting a bow on it and told him FC couldn't keep it warm in his stocking all night so he had sent it early.

Lockdownhairdontcare · 27/08/2020 22:55

DS once asked for his very own box of coco pops that he could eat on any day of the week not just at the weekend like mum and dad let me Blush

When DD was four she asked for a pink yo-yo with her name on it in purple writing!
