Best wrapping paper this year?

I really enjoy wrapping presents, and finding good quality wrapping paper. I didn’t go for a theme or set colour this year, just lots of different designs.

I have used wrapping paper from lots of different shops this year.

I bought some pink snowflake paper from John Lewis and was really pleased with the quality but the Nutcracker paper from there was really thin and disappointing.

I bought two different types from Sainsbury’s and it was awful. Kept tearing, and wasn’t cheap so won’t buy from there again because the one I had from there last year was also poor quality.

Had 2 types from Tesco & Paperchase and were all good quality.

Which paper did you like best and what shops will you avoid for it next year?

Best paper was poundshop online £1 a roll brown paper with red stars. Really nice to wrap with and better for recycling. Will use next again if they sell it.

I just used up the odds and ends from previous years. DS1 doesn't like presents wrapped so I put his bits in a bag that we re-use for all this christmases and birthdays. Bought some stuff in the fatface sale, this morning and was amused that the bag had a pattern on it and encouraged you to cut it up to use as wrapping paper. Might just save that for next year.

None. Reused old gift bags and newspaper plus reused ribbon 🙂

Seasalt wrapping paper is very thick and good quality, I bought some in the sale last year as it is not the cheapest to buy

I bought re usable sacks this year and they were wonderful, just tie with ribbon. It was so lovely not throwing anything away and there was a size to fit almost all the presents. I had one large throw to wrap which I used some Christmassy cloth for.

Brown paper stamped by the kids and also brown paper tape as trying to be more eco friendly this year. I heard that paper with foil or glitter or normal sellotape can't be recycled. Not sure if it's true but presents looked great!

I had a theme this year, brown parcel paper with green and black ribbon wrapped around the gifts in the most annoying ways possible 😂 full on zig zagged the ribbon around one of my dhs gifts.

I had lots left over from previous years (a mix of Primark, Debenhams, Tesco etc) but I did buy 1 roll from Ikea and it was far superior to any wrapping paper I've ever bought!

For all family both immediate and extended who I unwrapped presents with , I wrapped presents in Christmas voile fabric quarters of larger off cuts. Watched you tube tutorials on Japanese art of Furoshiki.. wrapping presents beautifully in cloth.

So simple and really pretty but best of all, just gather them all up and reuse next year . No tape, no mess.

For those where I'm not there to reclaim my wrapping cloth, brown recyclable paper and ribbon.

Used various rolls from last year’s sales - M&S, Tesco, Paperchase - all good. Tried to use up all the shiny stuff, as our council won’t recycle ANY wrapping paper this year, but I’m hoping next year the plain paper can go in the green bin.

Stockings won’t be wrapped next year - DC agreed that they will close their eyes and rummage around for gifts.

This year I found the ultimate wrapping paper - Amazon brown packing paper! Free, abundant, good thickness, recyclable, and perforated so barely any need for scissors! Looked great with bright ribbon.

Free newspaper, brown paper, leftovers from previous years and ribbons that I’ve collected over 15 years. Bought nothing, threw very little away - very pleased!
