Wrapping stocking presents?

Just that really - we didn't really have stockings growing up. Stocking type gifts would be wrapped up under the tree instead. But we are going to do stockings this year for the DC. Are presents inside stockings generally wrapped or put in there loose? Thanks!

I always wrap stockings but find it difficult with only use of one hand
This year I've used striped paper bags( quite a large size) bought for a couple of quid from eBay and finished without swearing! Recyclable too

Oh I see Pp has already suggested my idea!

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 10/12/2019 16:33

Wrapped unless it's chocolates/sweets.

Loveislandaddict · 10/12/2019 16:35

I had them wrapped as a child, and. Iwe app dc’s presents. I try and find some wrapping paper with Father Christmas on.

The main presents are from us.

We wrap the presents in the stocking but a different wrapping paper for each child, that corresponds with their gifts under the tree. Santa uses a different wrapping paper for each child to avoid using tags x

I always wrapped DS's because he used get up at ridiculous o'clock and he opens his stocking in my bed. The wrapping (and loads of tape) afforded me an extra 10 minutes or so in bed Wink.

Wrapped - no labels. Different cheap paper. Part of my seasonal fun is remembering who has what paper Xmas Grin yes to different paper than that under the tree. I get 3 for 2 in the pound shop.

sqirrelfriends · 10/12/2019 17:12

Wrapped, even the obligatory clementine.

Father Christmas never wrapped our stocking presents. I can remember the excitement of waking up to see what was sticking out the top, and then dipping my hand in to rummage about and see what I'd pull out next. Even my brother (who as a child had basically zero restraint) wouldn't dream of upending the stocking and tipping the whole lot out.

Our stockings were filled with lots of little bits and bobs - we had our actual presents under the tree to unwrap just a little a while later.

Wrap everything...so much more fun

daisypond · 10/12/2019 19:32

Always wrapped.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 10/12/2019 22:19

Wrapped, it helps us, when they wake up at 6 and we make them open them one by one each so it gives me a chance to recover and wake up properly.

mamaduckbone · 10/12/2019 22:30

Wrapped in cheap kid's wrapping paper - a different roll for each child and kept VERY well hidden so they don't see. Presents under the tree are in different paper because they are from people not Father Christmas. I absolutely don't still do this for the 14 year old!

Cherrysherbet · 11/12/2019 00:01

I wrap mine. Different paper to tree paper. Lots of different designs to make it look interesting. Satsuma, and Choc coins at the bottom, two crackers sticking out of the top!

ToTheRegimentIWishIWasThere · 11/12/2019 09:26

Half wrapped, half unwrapped! There's got to be crinkly paper!

Hadenoughofitall441 · 11/12/2019 19:16

@mamaduckbone finally someone with my thinking, whenever I mention this to people they look at me like I’m crazy 😜

JaJoJe · 16/12/2019 12:39

I've never wrapped stockings.

Stockings aren't even a big deal in our house just a little extra with some sweets and cheap tat in (bouncy balls, bubbles, stickers etc...).

Thestrangestthing · 16/12/2019 12:46

I usually wrap them but this year I'm thinking I won't bother.

Comefromaway · 16/12/2019 13:31

I use coloured tissue paper.

WeirdPookah · 16/12/2019 13:36

Wrapped! Father Christmas always uses brown paper based wrapping, different from what we use!

GlomOfNit · 16/12/2019 15:24

The elves wrap with brightly coloured and - massively important, this - GENERIC tissue paper so it can't be ID'd as incriminating. They scorn sellotape, preferring to save the planet by using cotton butcher's twine. This makes the wrapping process ... protracted.

They don't wrap everything. That would be daft. Sweets, candy cane, satsuma, chocolate coins, chocolate Santa etc, are unwrapped and the Santa and candy cane must be sticking out of top of stocking, it is The Rules. Any soft toys are also unwrapped for some reason. Bonus points if you can also get a bit of soft toy sticking out of stocking. Looks pukka that way. Wink
