Stocking ideas for teenagers

Crazyhouse123 · 04/12/2019 06:12

Hi, I need inspiration!

5 teenagers between us, 2 over 18. They still get stockings (no they dont believe!) In which I put some useful stuff and some fun stuff.

Every year I end up spending too much to fill them in a last minute panic. Any ideas in cheap stuff that is bulky would be great! They get their main present during the day.

The basic is:

Deodorant/ shower gel set
Pens
Book
Chocolate gift set
Any other tat that I see when out but often costs more than I wanted it too!

Thank you for any inspiration you can give me! I really don't want the last minute panic this year

We've had success with the following:

Power bank as back up power source for mobile phones.

Socks.

Lip balm (boys and girls both seem to like this).

Nail polish or other small make up items / make up brushes - often on good deals at this time of year.

Popsocket for phones.

Phone cases.

Handwarmers (those little gel things you warm up and put in pocket)

Those gloves you can still use your phone with when wearing them.

Nice chocolate.

I'll put a coffee card into each of my teens stocking

also a book each - I usually stick to the same theme for them all, so last year I got them all feminist books. This year, I don't know yet.

Sistercharlie · 04/12/2019 07:33

My 16 year old dd's stocking contents are:

Personalised mug (monochrome with initial)
Personalised travel label with initial
Pair of inexpensive earrings
Mini hand sanitizer
Blue nail varnish
2 pb books
Fairisle slipper socks
Belgian chocolate lollipops (to make hot chocolate)
3 pairs pants from Hunkemoller
4 pairs tights from Falke
A liquorice jelly rat (family tradition !)
After Eight mints (ditto!)
Some special shampoo from Neal's Yard
A pair of Ariat riding chaps
A Tile thing to attach to her keys

Crazyhouse123 · 04/12/2019 07:43

Oh wow what brilliant ideas thank you!

I will definitely be using a lot of these...coffee cards and pre mixed alcohol will go down very well with the 2 18 year olds!

As they have become more tech orientated it has become more difficult so I really appreciate all these answers! Thank you!

Just what I thought. TBH I doubt many people would consider £100+ chaps and Falke tights as stocking fillers.

Trewser · 04/12/2019 08:07

Dd has the premixed Fentimans Gin with rose tonic. Looks so pretty!

Thos Hunkemoller pants look great but not sure if the sizing? Dd is a 10 -8/10 might be too small and 12/14 too big!

Sistercharlie · 04/12/2019 08:08

Atilla I should have mentioned that the chaps (half chaps actually) are her main present really (apart from a modest voucher for clothes), along with a jumper from ASOS, PJs from Next and several Hb books. The chaps retail for about Euros 100 but my sister got them for me in UK at a 30% discount at a country fair type event. So overall not too extravagant. I am putting one of them on her stocking ifyswim, which is why they are included in stocking haul if that makes sense!

Sistercharlie · 04/12/2019 08:13

The Falke tights range from Euros 12 to 21 and they are good value because they don't snag which is why I mentioned the mske. She had four in her stocking last year and three of them are still going strong. (She needs a lot because she wears them to school.)

Trewser · 04/12/2019 08:14

My dd wears my pair of falke tights to school. I bought them 25 years ago!!

Mummyonline · 04/12/2019 08:33

I'd love more ideas for teenage boys. I have an aged 14 DS.
So far he has:

LED shoelaces
Tube of White chocolate Buttons
Power bank charger
Sticky toffee pudding cake pot
Pack of cards

I've managed to get load for ages 13 DD - make up, bath bombs etc but much more difficult for DS!

IlsSortLaPlupartAuNuitMostly · 04/12/2019 08:46

Placemarking. Currently struggling to think of books to get - I always include a paperback.

hiredandsqueak · 04/12/2019 09:18

Those cute charger cable protectors that seem the rage just now.
Earphones.
Make up cleansing wipes.
Fluffy socks/slipper socks.
Diary/notepad
Coffee bags/ Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate
Tube of sweets
Card game
Rubiks cube or similar

Trewser · 04/12/2019 10:02

Books for the last two years:
Veg cooking for students
Mug cakes
Ladybird book of the hangover
Little book of calm
Chicken soup for the soul

kjhkj · 04/12/2019 10:05

I think people must use the phrase "stockings" to mean different things. Here stockings are about 30cm long and get hung on the end of the bed and filled with little things. You certainly wouldn't fit a beach towel in one. The main presents get left downstairs in front of the fire.

Trewser · 04/12/2019 10:07

All our stockings are smallish. I can just about stuff whats in my list in mine
