Killerqueen2244 · 30/11/2019 19:47

Is he into motorsport and/or Music?

MikeUniformMike · 30/11/2019 19:48

Is there anything that he needs like a good waterproof coat for commuting or something?

Get him to choose what he'd like and order it.

It's a PITA having a birthday so close to Christmas.

LizzeyBenett · 30/11/2019 19:49

@Killerqueen2244 not really he hates concerts gets a bit anxious and not into motor sport I'm at a loss it's so hard. I also out did myself last year so I can't top
It no matter what I do

Eek! That’s a difficult one!! Does he enjoy different types of alcohol? Is he an animal lover? Errrr if the budget allows maybe something like a Barbour jacket?!

I feel your pain, whilst my husband has lots of interests he earns much more money than me so I’m always having to think of a present that he wouldn’t buy himself as opposed to couldn’t buy himself!

Bourbonbiccy · 30/11/2019 20:00

I'm watching with interest for my husband, it's so tough.

This year I'm also in the same boat with my brother HmmHmm

Ragwort · 30/11/2019 20:03

Does he really mean ‘nothing’ or is he implying that you really should be able to think of something fantastic for him. Does he buy you gifts?

My DH & I don’t exchange gifts, thee is nothing we want or need so why spend money for the sake of it? Confused

LizzeyBenett · 30/11/2019 20:44

@Ragwort he means there isn't anything he 'wants' and to make it worse he is so good and thoughtful with my gifts .

Oh its so difficult. My DH has his birthday and Christmas close together too. I've bought his Christmas present on a 30% off black Friday deal (AllSaints leather jacket), but have no clue for his birthday the week after next. Maybe I'll just take him out for a posh dinner.

Wxantia12 · 30/11/2019 20:55

Buy yourself something instead what you want and need. He won't mind, get him fish and chips in january to open.

RainbowMum11 · 30/11/2019 21:36

A book?
Tokens for meals out/events/trips to the cinema?
'Doing things' together rather than 'getting things'.
Magazine subscription?

PlugUgly1980 · 01/12/2019 07:19

Lego? There's some amazing adult kits available now. Alexa and gadgets.

Curlysusie · 01/12/2019 07:38

Now tv voucher £99 for movies and entertainment for the year?

Egghead68 · 01/12/2019 07:40

A surprise trip somewhere.

Mumdiva99 · 01/12/2019 07:42

Tickets to an event - comedy show? Cinema vouchers?

RebootYourEngine · 01/12/2019 07:50

I feel your pain. My DP is so difficult to buy for.

He isn't materialistic at all. Not into clothes, books, gadgets, alcohol or anything really.

We are due a baby soon so holidays and days out are limited. Even then he's more a stay at home kind of guy, if I suggest going somewhere he is more than happy to go but i feel like if I bought him something like that it wouldn't really be a present for him.

MaltTeaser · 01/12/2019 09:05

You mentioned that you outdid yourself last year - can you say what this was to give as an idea to the sort of thing he really likes?

Thehollyandtheirony · 01/12/2019 09:12

Consumables! Food or drink products he normally uses but much better quality.

CherryPavlova · 01/12/2019 09:17

My husband is a nightmare to buy for. It’s very budget dependent but good presents have been
City breaks
A picture for his office wall
Framed photos of children for his offices
A man’s windproof umbrella from Farlowes
A waterproof and fleece long coat for watching rugby in.
Neoprene gloves for swimming in winter
Theatre tickets with a hotel in London
‘Designer’ socks and notebooks.
Jo Malone scent

carrie74 · 01/12/2019 09:33

Things my DH is getting this year:

Theatre tickets (we're not big theatre goers, but this is a show we've both wanted to see for years, and it happened to be on tour near us)
A man bag (he actually asked for this)
Andrew Ridgely book
New Book of Dust
Magnetic wristband for screws (thanks MN)
A gardeners tool belt
Pants and socks
A wildlife camera for the garden

In previous years:
Various headphones
Apple HomePod thing
Various other Apple devices
Jumpers
Washbags (last year I filled it with his usual toiletries too)

LizzeyBenett · 01/12/2019 10:49

Ok so I went ahead and booked 2 nights away with a tour of a brewery here with a tasting of the beer he drinks it's a staycation in a different part of the country so hopefully he likes it
