Just wondering where everyone gets their christmas wrapping paper from? I can't seem to find any nice ones this year!

Paperchase this year as it’s recycled and recyclable ...

Time40 · 22/11/2019 21:20

Sainsbury's. They seem to have the prettiest designs.

Marmite27 · 22/11/2019 21:21

Costco double sided ones.

ArabellaPilkington · 23/11/2019 07:21

I've got mine from John Lewis this year, chose paper that seems recyclable to me. (We often save it and reuse anyway as DC not at the ripping stage any more).

I've also bought more bags - although more expensive, can be reused many many times. JL have some gorgeous ones by Five Dollar Shake.

Exp1etiveDeLighted · 23/11/2019 07:27

We mainly use re-usable bags now, acquired over the years, but previously bought it in Sainsburys sale after Christmas and saved it.

skankingpiglet · 23/11/2019 07:29

Another vote for Ikea: reasonably priced, good quality, and recyclable. I have bought a couple of rolls from this year's selection, but I mostly have rolls I bought reduced after Xmas last year.

SpeckledyHen · 23/11/2019 07:30

Ikea

user1480880826 · 23/11/2019 07:32

Wherever you buy it make sure it’s recyclable. I use brown paper.

Stupiddriver1 · 23/11/2019 07:33

Is wrapping paper all recyclable as long as it’s not glittery?

I’m worried now as I’ve always stuck it in the recycling bin but this year I see some advertised as “recyclable” and others which don’t mention it.

recklessgran · 23/11/2019 07:34

I like Waterstones but it's not cheap and there's only a few designs. In reality I got mine from Studio and some posh stuff from Cox & Cox which I got on the £20 off a £25 spend referral thingy.

Star2015 · 23/11/2019 07:36

I don’t tend to be loyal to any particular brand. This year I found a design in B&M which I loved. It’s minty green and silver and is like a ski theme. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the one. I’ve wrapped all the presents I have so far and found it to be good quality. It was just £4.99.

Where do you buy your wrapping paper?
SlayingDragons · 23/11/2019 08:01

I haven’t bought any for years as I had a huge stock to use up but have splashed out this year on some lovely Cox & Cox stuff (not really splashed out - got it with the £20 off deal from the Bargain threads) and then bought the rest from Sostrene Greene - they have lovely brown paper with simple patterns on and lovely coloured twine so recyclable and looks great.

SlayingDragons · 23/11/2019 08:02

@Stupiddriver1 - our old council where we used to live says that if you can scrunch it and it stays in a ball then it can be recycled but if it bounces back then it can’t. (A lot of papers contain plastic)

Where we live now they say no wrapping paper except brown paper

Leflic · 23/11/2019 08:08

Lovemusic33 I love thin paper! Reminds me of the Christmas paper from the 70’s and 80’s. Rips nicely
Thick paper sets my teeth on edge. And harder to tape nicely.

WellTidy · 23/11/2019 08:13

White company, in their sale. They do 10 metre rolls which are £10 full price but drop to something like £4 after Christmas. I also buy coloured craft paper and patterned tissue paper to coordinate from John Lewis.

And Christmas ribbon from crafty ribbons or simply ribbons.

And bags and boxes from card factory - way cheaper than other shops, loads of designs and pretty sturdy.

PrivateSpidey · 23/11/2019 08:16

Leflic I was just about to say the same thing! Someone should make it exactly like that again.

MadisonAvenue · 23/11/2019 08:19

I bought some from Primark last year and it was brilliant quality and value so I’ll be buying from there again this year.

MadisonAvenue · 23/11/2019 08:20

Oh, and we used to be able to put wrapping paper in the recycling bin but now the council have said that it can’t go in there.

Mominatrix · 23/11/2019 08:20

Third vote for Costco - double sided, thick, and voluminous.

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 23/11/2019 08:29

Last year WH Smith’s, they had some really nice designs.
This year I’m going for brown paper with nice ribbons, because I spend too much time on Pinterest, and because I don’t know which tree they’re going under (one is silver and white, one gold and red).

NaughtyLittleElf · 23/11/2019 09:39

Always Sainsbury's straight after Christmas, always lots of choice and it's cheap.

ajandjjmum · 23/11/2019 09:50

M & S - as they do matching tags. And the lines on the back so even I can cut in a straight line! Grin

Turt · 23/11/2019 10:03

Wilkos! Great quality and it's 3 for 2.

Winterisnigh · 23/11/2019 10:16

I don't want wrapping Paper with squares on it though.
Or the brand name like m and s because presents here are from fc.

One year ikea did a stunning vintage range!
Not sure anything has grabbed my eye this year. One-year matalan was incredible...
Agree wilko is good but I couldn't buy fc paper from there dc would see it

ElleEfarr · 23/11/2019 10:32

I'm thinking I might try using fabric squares this year, something like this en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furoshiki
