Basically what the the title says Grin I am super organised this year which is a first I'm usually the last minute shopper but all the presents are bought they just need wrapping I am however going to wait till December to wrap as it will feel more festive [santa] we always get a real tree so usually wait a little longer in December before the tree goes up etc! But because I'm so organised this year I'm very excited to get the decorations up ! I was thinking of putting them up some point in the first week of December but is this too soon? When do you deck your halls? Grin

In our house, we have them up before the weekend before Christmas but no earlier than the start of December - this year, it will probably be either the weekend of 7th or 14th December - but on 14th I have a party in the morning (Cubs) and evening (big street thing) so 15th will be a wipe out, so probably the afternoon of 7th as DD will be just finished her Christmas Exams.

Then again, it might be one evening the week of 16th December, so its done by that weekend.

The fresh flower arrangements around the candle on the table and on the breakfast bar will not be done until the weekend of 21st December, I'll probably buy the flowers on 21st and then find quiet time on the weekend (last year, it was 26th when I put them together!).

We don't do decorations or a tree as we have no kids and can't be arsed Grin. However I walked past a house on bonfire night that already had their tree and lights up!

BiddyPop · 14/11/2019 12:35

Nigel no DCs is no excuse to not put up decs!! We had a tree and lights before we even had a bed in our first house (DH had moved in, was sleeping on a mattress on the floor, I moved in just after Christmas after the ned was delivered, we got married 4 weeks later Blush - but a tree was on both our lists!! And we still use that original tree and a couple of the decorations 20 years later!!). DD only came along in time for the latter end of year 6, as Christmas was over but the decs were still up.

Buddyelf · 14/11/2019 12:41

We do the first weekend in December but normally wait another week for the real tree so it lasts longer.

bloodywhitecat · 14/11/2019 12:46

Not yet, I am usually late to put mine up (I wait until the weekend the schools break up) but this year special circumstances mean they will go up early, they will go up around the 15th December.

CoolShoeshine · 14/11/2019 16:26

First weekend on December! I usually like putting them up on a Friday evening with wine and festive music but as the 1st is on a Sunday this year I’ll probably do it then rather than waiting for the following Friday. Can’t wait 🎄

Ohffs66 · 14/11/2019 16:33

Around the 7th/8th. DH has no interest in putting them up and will be away that weekend so I will very much enjoy spending hours doing it!

MelanieFrontage · 14/11/2019 17:32

14th December. I drove into town a couple of nights ago and loads of houses had their Christmas lights up, I was 😮

chillychicken · 15/11/2019 12:32

7th December if I get my way (friends coming for dinner that night so it'll be nice and festive) but 1st December if my DS gets his way Grin

Oldraver · 15/11/2019 13:22

The last few years it's been 10th if December as it's the day after OH's birthday and he says he doesn't want to share Smile However recently he's been excited as us

That suits me as it's still earlier than when we used to do it, around the 20th after pre-Christmas visits back home

Pipandmum · 15/11/2019 13:26

First weekend in December but I've a friend who has already put hers up. Down by Jan 6 but likely the weekend before that. I've already done my present buying too but those don't go out till about midnight Christmas eve.

Winter2019 · 15/11/2019 13:51

1st of December! But we are getting real Christmas tree so that will be about 18th Dec!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/11/2019 18:08

First weekend in December, but as the 1st is a Sunday, we'll be starting on nov 30th this year. Can't wait!

RhinosAreJustChubbyUnicorns · 16/11/2019 00:07

It's all going up tomorrow for us...our family rule is the day after Remembrance Day, but this year I am making the kids wait until Saturday. It has been a long week!

ethelredonagoodday · 16/11/2019 00:15

DDs birthday is 13th Dec, so we generally go first weekend in Dec. Never before. Is too early.

MrsPear · 16/11/2019 19:51

I’ll start on the first - change the cushions and throws etc the tree will probably come the week after or after that.

StylishMummy · 16/11/2019 20:41

Up 1 December
Down 27-28 December

AcrossthePond55 · 16/11/2019 21:19

Most likely the weekend after Thanksgiving (so, Nov 30/Dec 1). We used to put up decs around then, but we wouldn't get a tree until around 2 wks before Xmas so it'd keep fresh. But last year we got a good quality fake tree so it's going up when the decs do!!!

Rabbitradar · 16/11/2019 22:44

First weekend in December. We take down New Year’s Day. The tree usually lasts well. I always enjoy the decorations more before Xmas day rather than after, hence the skew.

WagtailRobin · 17/11/2019 00:09

This year ours will be going up on the 30th of November, will still be putting it all up the next day on the 1st but by the 2nd everything will be out, in its place etc.

RoseMartha · 17/11/2019 00:15

Around second week December.

loubieloo4 · 17/11/2019 00:24

Usually on 1st of December.

This year however I have no interest as it will probably be our last with dh who has stage 4 bowel cancer (39 years old) 😭 it just seems so trivial in the grand scheme of things. However I will find the strength to somehow make things seem festive for the children. Not got a single gift yet and I'm normally done by the beginning of December. If anyone has some festive cheer to send my way..........

AcrossthePond55 · 17/11/2019 01:42
