Just a light hearted thread Grin

I always get the dog some gifts. Funds are a bit low this year but I’m still going to get her some inexpensive treats I know she likes.

Anyone else?

We always buy for our dog , he likes unwrapping things . At the moment he has 2 tubes of tennis balls , a new blanket and a soft turkey toy with removable legs . We are going to the horse show at Olympia the week before Christmas so I will get him something there as well .

DramaAlpaca · 10/11/2019 15:20

Yes, of course. They are part of the family. If I didn't get the dogs a present each they'd be trying to unwrap ours.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/11/2019 15:21

Not 'presents' but they were involved :
we had guinea-pigs for eight years ( in total 8 of them , at one point we had 5 )
They had a Tradition of a Christmas photo on a festive fleece on Christmas Eve , wearing hats ( placed on top of their heads , not fastened) so it took a while . One will shake , one will turn round , one will wander off Xmas Grin
For this , they got the Christmas veg trimmings .

This year , we have no guineas , but we do have two young black cats .

I cannot see the hat/photo going down a storm with them. So they might get some toys and maybe a radiator hammock (or two)

And as we're vegetarian except DS , they can have some of his chicken.

And an idea I saw on here - Presents From The Cats .
Wrapped badly (cats don't do wrapping) with fur in the sellotape (looks at carpet ...yes that's a Go)

reluctantbrit · 10/11/2019 15:34

3 rabbits - I may steal the photo idea

They get a new willow chewing/eating toy and a bowl with all kind of treats they normally don't get

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 10/11/2019 15:42

Oh God yes! Most important "person" to buy for! Grin

marjoretta · 10/11/2019 15:52

Of course, my cat loves her new catnip toy she gets every year.

My parents dog always knew when it was Christmas Day and used to get super excited to open his Xmas presents.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 10/11/2019 15:53

Dd would be heartbroken if santa forgot to bring a gift for her tortoise!! She sends him a letter from the tortoise, and then buys her something too!

Glenthebattleostrich · 10/11/2019 15:55

Of course. Madmutt is getting some new ovo eggs, a new blanket, a new cuddly toy and a selection of her favourite treats.

She also gets a Christmas dinner.

Winterdaysarehere · 10/11/2019 15:55

After a £££££ vet's bill for dental work we are getting ddogs tooth brushes for Xmas!!

Whatsitlike · 10/11/2019 15:59

Absolutely!

Chickens rule the roost....and get a Christmas dinner! (put do pick out the sprouts til later)

Stompythedinosaur · 10/11/2019 17:54

Of course! My dog, cats, guinea pigs, rats and ducks all get both a present under the tree from us and a stocking filler by FC.

EdWinchester · 10/11/2019 17:56

Yes for our dog! And all his friends.

He is very adroit at unwrapping.

BiteyShark · 10/11/2019 18:11

Yes he gets a new ball and he also gets a turkey dinner Grin

Wizzbangpop · 10/11/2019 18:16

Of course ddog gets something. Don't want think she's missing out on all of the fun and watching us unwrap stuff whilst she watches on is unfair.

This year she's getting some blankets for our new caravan as we don't want her muddy paws on the seats. She'll also get some sort of toy/ play thing.

BearSoFair · 10/11/2019 18:31

2 cats - always get a tin of posh food for 'Christmas dinner' and some treats as a present. Neither of them are interested in toys, shoelaces are the peak of entertainment for them!

hobbler · 10/11/2019 18:33

Dcat always gets a gift usually a new catnip toy

FoxInABox · 10/11/2019 18:37

Yes definitely, the dogs & cat all get a stocking each and their own Christmas dinner too.

Babdoc · 10/11/2019 18:40

Other way round in my house- the cat tends to bring me a present. Unfortunately not usually one I appreciate!
My previous cat was sitting on the sofa when DD (aged about 6 at the time) moaned that she and her classmates each had to make a robin decoration to hang on the school Christmas tree, and she had no idea how to.
DCat slipped out of his cat flap into the shrubbery. He returned a short while later and deposited a freshly killed robin at DD’s feet!

yellowsun · 10/11/2019 19:08

Our cat deposited a dead bird under our Christmas tree on his first winter being let outside. Lovely!

We normally get a catnip mouse for our and my parents’ cats. They like these best: Mice Handmade Catnip Cat Toy - pack of two [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00736NTL6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xagYDbX0H1KJ?tag=mumsnetforu03-21X]]

LaurieFairyCake · 10/11/2019 19:32

Oh yeah, she LOVES unwrapping them - and of course we video it and put it on Facebook

I've bought 8 so far Grin

HappyHammy · 10/11/2019 19:34

I haven't even got a pet but I always buy both my sisters dogs a christmas present

Gingerninja01 · 10/11/2019 19:45

I don’t have any pets, but if I did I would get them a nice bone/some sort of treats!
