Christmas Angel Conundrum

Ok so I bought a lovely garden light up Christmas angel from the states. For 2 reasons I decided to remove the lights and put a uk set on.

Reason 1. The lights that were on her really ruined the look
Thick white wires poking out all over the place and big white bulb holders. Also the cord was pretty short and I felt more lights were needed to cover her properly. I bought a larger set of 100 (came with 70) on a thin clear cord which is all tucked away and completely invisible.

Pic attached.

Reason 2. Even though I have a step down transformer to convert the current from us to uk, I thought it would be much easier to have a uk set with a nice long cord that reaches into the house.

Ok. So it turns out there's a setting to have the lights fade from cool to warm to cool etc on a loop.
Arrrrgh.

Warm, definitely. The rings and trumpet are a warmer shade, so warm lights suit her better. It's more glowy

Aderyn19 · 25/09/2019 18:43

Rings = wings. Bloody phone

Whitecandle · 26/09/2019 07:41

70sWitch · 26/09/2019 12:03

Usually I'd say warm, but because she's an angel, she should be cold and silvery and frosty cold!

MyFavouritePlace · 26/09/2019 18:33

Warn and it's really lovely!

whyamidoingthis · 27/09/2019 13:11

Go with the loop option. It'll mess with your neighbours' headsGrin

Now for the important question: where did you get it and how long does delivery take?

wishingchair1 · 27/09/2019 13:18

Can i ask where you got her from? I didn't know i needed christmas angel.

70sWitch · 27/09/2019 15:42

She's from an eBay seller in the US. and shipped through the eBay Global Shipping Program. Takes about 3 weeks.

Don't forget to check the import charges ebay add on to the shipping. It can get expensive.

My reindeer are cool but they probably aren't going out this year anyway

Say what? Poor things! How can you be SO cruel?

70sWitch · 27/09/2019 15:46

Oh and if you don't want to replace the lights you will need a step down US to UK transformer. Amazon also sell these.

IncrediblySadToo haha. Ok ok. They can sit out in the back. Grin

@wishingchair1 @whyamidoingthis

Have answered you. Don't know if you saw it.

OP posts:
whyamidoingthis · 30/09/2019 12:05

Saw that. Thank you.

Dh has this ridiculous notion that you can have enough decorations. Now I just need to convince him that we've had it for years.....

70sWitch · 30/09/2019 12:20

Ah. The old "What? This old thing?" Grin with an added "I can't BELIEVE you don't remember it" said in an offededed tone.
Good luck and you're welcome.

whyamidoingthis · 30/09/2019 12:36

And "do you not remember the discussion about which lights to use? Were you not listening to me?" At which stage he'll hopefully agree he remembers just to avoid a discussion about how he never listens to stuff like this.

I have limited time to decide here. It's almost OCTOBER! shock
It's okay, there's loads of time; as long as you have the sprouts on already, everything's under control.

wishingchair1 · 30/09/2019 12:56

Thanks @70switch.
I'll have a look at them.

70sWitch · 30/09/2019 14:16

whyamidoingthis. Hehe. Exactly. Grin

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername Not to worry, sprouts have been on since May. Phew!

wishingchair1 you're welcome
