Can I have some suggestions for what is a good big toy present for an almost 2 yr old boy please? Something under £80 please and for indoors.
He already has a trike and a decent sized train set.
I'm stuck for ideas on what he's love at that age. I'd love to hear what your 2 yr olds loved playing with please.
Would he be too young for scooters and play kitchens?

Rocking horse or wheelybug 👌

Looking4wards · 21/07/2019 21:00

Rocking horse is added to the list of ideas thanks.

He doesn't like ride on toys... He's tried a few different ones at nursery and cries whenever we put him on one. No idea why Confused

DS got a big garage with ramps and a lift for his cars last Christmas. I think a play kitchen would have gone down well too. Or maybe a slide, if you have room outside?

AvengerDanvers95 · 21/07/2019 21:04

Sorry I missed the bit saying indoors.

The My First Remote Control Thomas was also a winner with DH

Do you have a garden? Would he like a 'Little Tykes' car?

Orangedaisy · 21/07/2019 21:05

Perfect age for a toy kitchen.

Waiting1987 · 21/07/2019 21:06

A tent or ballpool.

Kitchen was a superb present for both my boys at this age. We got the ikea one, picked up second hand they’re very reasonable.

Toy kitchen is my 2 year olds favourite toy

Lanka Kade deluxe London bus

Bajo dolls pram (we have a gorgeous blue and green one and it's my son's favourite toy probably).

Toy kitchen sounds popular!
A lot seem to say for 36months+ due to small parts. Do you guys think that's ok?

Toy kitchen

When my ds was two we got a red wooden diner type one from mothercare and he loved it for years. Just opening and closing the cupboards and oven took up most of Christmas Day Grin

AvengerDanvers95 · 21/07/2019 21:14

Early Learning Centre has a wooden double decker bus for a quarter the price of the Lanka one. It's probably DS's favourite weapon battering ram toy.

I'm a bit Hmm at the age restrictions on toys. We have a board book that says not for under 24 months.

Another vote for toy kitchen! Literally hours of entertainment. Mine has played with hers since 18months ish, it was a hand me down or I probably wouldn’t have thought to get one that young.
The bonus is that if any family members/friends need guidance on little presents they can pick up some wooden food/pots and pans/cake cutting sets etc to go with your main present!

Got DD's kitchen from Asda last Christmas when she was 2.5. Really good value for a wooden one. And still gets lots of consistent play time.

Ikea have a nice wooden toy kitchen plus accessories. We love the wooden food thats got velcro holding it together.
A firm favourite in our house was an engine that could be dismantled and put back together-best buy ever!!!

I'm getting this for my 2 year old.

RomaineCalm · 21/07/2019 21:30

I'll go against the grain and say that DS never played with the kitchen that we bought. It just sat in the corner of the room gathering dust.

I think at that age he had a Little Tikes Crazy Coupe car (which he loved) and a huge selection of Brio - trains and track. The ELC garage was also well played with.

georgialondon · 21/07/2019 21:51

We have the Tefal toy kitchen. It's really great.

BakewellGin1 · 21/07/2019 22:11

My oldest DS LOVED his ELC whizz garage/whizz mountain and cars.

Oh and his Happyland toys were well played with.

Toy kitchen, playmags, duplo, little tikes garden stuff, water table

DreamingofSunshine · 22/07/2019 11:10

Toy kitchen, scuttle bug, garage and a dolls house- my 2 year old DS got one for Christmas at 18m old and he loves putting his toys in it!

LemonadePockets · 24/07/2019 22:21

VTech toot toot was very popular in our household at that age!

user27495824 · 25/07/2019 02:45

All 3 of mine have completely ignored our toy kitchen.
