I forgot to buy crackers, the pulling kind.

To put crackers on the table - remembered at end of meal.

More importantly to tell DH to keep an eye on my braised red cabbage and stir it from time to time while I fed 6 week old - fortunately top of the saucepan full was edible but I might have ruined the pan! It was smoking under the lid when I got back to the kitchen!

Hazards of cooking a full roast from scratch with a newborn in the house!

Carrots. How the hell do you forget carrots when shopping for all the other veg?

Killerqueen2244 · 25/12/2018 20:04

I forgot the potatoes! Luckily I had a front door key for the in-laws so let myself into their house (they’re away) and steal all of theirs! Can’t believe I forgot them when I had bought the goose fat and potato seasoning!!!

Oblomov18 · 25/12/2018 20:04

Nothing. I don't think I've ever forgotten anything. There were small shops/newsagents open round here today.

SmilingButClueless · 25/12/2018 20:07

This has just reminded me that we forgot to cook the red cabbage

Pinkprincess1978 · 25/12/2018 21:02

I forgot nothing, DH forgot to make hats (home made crackers which he only sealed the other end of today when I reminded him).

Food wise all has gone well.

likeridingabike · 26/12/2018 09:34

To buy a present for my mother's dog 🙄

SongforSal · 26/12/2018 09:40

Coffee. No idea how I forgot to buy such a basic item. Climbing the walls here, I need a cup of delicious caffeine and tea is not cutting it.

BikeRunSki · 26/12/2018 09:52

My mums, sisters and nephews and nieces presents. All at home in a bag 200 miles away.

Spent Christmas with PiL. Remembers theirs and the DC’s presents. Now moving on to my family without any. Sad Will have to post them - DSis avd her dc live overseas. I deliberately didn’t limit myself to “small size” presents fir them, because I thought I was t going to have to post them.

The wine!! I told DP to get it. He thinks he asked me to get it.

I sent him out at 11am and told him not to return empty handed!! Astonishingly, local off licence was open. He returned 10 minutes later with 3 bottles. Apparently the place was heaving mainly with panicked looking men!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/12/2018 12:48

I bought some food and put it in the garage freezer , sent DH down yesterday but didnt ask him to bring up the red cabbage ..so he didn't .
we can have that with Quorn sausages and mash on Thurs.

I bought crackers last year and we didn't use them so I bought some Lindt ones this year (no Hats/No Tat/No Bang) Of course the DC missed the paper hats and crappy nail clippers and plastic keyring (they are 16 and 19, I think the Christmas Traditions are instilled too deep Xmas Grin )

I forgot to look out a recipe for pizza dough ( had to search this morning ) theres one which works well but I can never remember . I have a bowl of dough now patiently rising for our Traditional Pizza Boxing Day

itallhappensforareason · 26/12/2018 12:50

Just crackers although they weren't forgotten, it was more of a conscious decision. It was just me and my husband at home for dinner though, with our 3.5 month old, so just saw crackers as an unnecessary expense.

CheekyFucker · 26/12/2018 12:56

Crackers forgotten accidentally on purpose here too. Nobody mentioned them. Much easier to clear up afterwards because of this.

A lot of things are going to change after this year for sure. So much unnecessary fuss and mess and waste.

Giggorata · 26/12/2018 13:12

I forgot to put out the crackers and to add the partridge breasts into the roasting tin... not too bad this year.

EggysMom · 26/12/2018 13:13

Bacon over the turkey breast, the only thing that OH has mentioned for the last three weeks. I remembered stuffing, pork stuffing, p-i-b, yorkshires, roasties and mash ... but forgot the sodding crispy bacon!

callmekitten · 26/12/2018 16:09

Where I hid one of DD's gifts. I told her she will get another gift at some random future date when I find it.

ILuvBirdsEye · 26/12/2018 20:15

Oh no!!! OP just reminded me that I forgot the crackers! They are in a cupboard at the back Xmas Sad

1stMrsF · 26/12/2018 22:56

Forgot to buy cloves. Only realised when I put the ham on to cook. One of my lovely neighbours came to the rescue.

Otherwise, think we were all over it this year Grin
