MIL at Christmas

I don't have a good relationship with MIL. FIL is lovely. We are hosting this year. I just want everyone, kids in particular, to have a great Christmas.

The messages tonight made me cry. I don't want her in my house, but she will be staying for 3 nights next week.

Any tips for rising above? Apart from gin.

I’m very lucky as my nice but slightly odd FIL is on a US road trip for five weeks over Christmas and the MIL was restricted to an hour over coffee last Sunday as we’ve booked to go away this weekend. Don’t worry she won’t be on her own, she’ll quite happily go out for lunch with BIL.
