As ever I am struggling for ideas. So far I have got him:
Socks (Yes, I know)
A biography "The Lost Soul of Eamon Magee"
And a small gift set box of three mini ports with a glass

What are you getting for your dh /dp?

We don’t really buy a great deal throughout the year so have got into the habit of stocking up at Christmas.

HelenaJustina · 30/11/2018 21:29

Presents - cashmere blend jumper as he really loves the one I got him as an anniversary present last year.
Lego type block building toy with lights that he will have fun doing with DC. A book he mentioned wanting about 3 months ago and a jigsaw!

Stocking will be little things: nice box of museli, new pants, toothbrush, chocolate, key ring, magazine, suduko puzzle book etc

I am so excited about this Christmas. Dh is brilliant at buying the perfect present and I am not. This year however I have absolutely nailed it- he's always loved a painting that my parents own and he mentioned it again at a recent visit. I googled the painter's name and found a painting very similar to my parents' on eBay. I had to arrange a courier which has proved rather stressful but the painting arrived today. The kids saw it and just said "daddy has always wanted grandma's painting". I am so excited about seeing his face when he opens it that I'm not sure how I'm going to keep it secret til Christmas.

dementedma · 30/11/2018 21:42

mine fancies himself as a DIY expert (when in fact he is rubbish at it) and has asked for some gadget saw thingy so he's getting that.
also jumper
Tommy Cooper joke book
Beard oil

plus a stocking.

Aside from the obligatory socks (I swear the washing machine eats them), I'm going for a club membership/tour of local brewery, you get club nights and beer cheap.
@Dockray, that sounds perfect

user1471449040 · 30/11/2018 22:21

where does one buy nice socks?

Serin · 30/11/2018 23:19

Every single year he drops hints about a chainsaw!
No way!!
I've got him a tin of chocolate sardines.

Whatsnewwithyou · 01/12/2018 11:19

I love the chocolate sardines as a substitute for a chainsaw! You've inspired me so I looked up chocolate sardines on Amazon and found some Cadbury brand chocolate fish for DH. He hates fish but loves cheap chocolate so this will be quite a funny gift.

I love Christmas presents that are humorous actually as long as they will actually be eaten/used. I'm flying with the idea of getting DH some funny slippers that look like monster paws/claws. I just don't know if they'd be comfortable to wear or if he's trip over his claws! Grin

Flying=toying

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/12/2018 14:56

TK Maxx for nice socks.

5foot5 · 01/12/2018 21:29

Link to the lock picking kit please?

This is the one I got

Tacklife lock pick set

There are quite a few others but I liked the look of this because it has two transparent practice locks.

Gentlygently · 02/12/2018 20:38

Thanks for the lock picking link. Looks great!

Stompythedinosaur · 02/12/2018 20:47

Do is getting (between his December birthday and xmas):

Carved leather cuff from our leatherworker friend.
Tickets to see Nish Kumar.
A box with one alexa echo and a couple of echo dots plus some smart bulbs and smart plugs.
Some posh pork scratchings.

I will probably add a book or graphic novel and maybe a new board game if I find one that looks good.

Previous year's hits have been gig tickets to bands of his youth and a viking arrowhead (this is probably not a good present unless you are interested in coming though!).

Stompythedinosaur · 02/12/2018 20:48

Coming = Vikings.

BestIsWest · 02/12/2018 21:22

DH is having :
Camera (yet to be specified to me)
Sheepskin slippers
Jumper
Books
Box of Roger et Gallet soap which he loves
I’ve also ordered the lockpicking set as I think he’d like it.
Small stocking of chocs, beer etc

OldBrownShoe · 03/12/2018 09:38

Dp is easy to buy for - he has lots of interests. So far I’ve got

Jedi dressing gown
Adventure time watch that Deadpool wears
Wolverine dog tags
Women of Nasa Lego set
Lego space sets from the 80s (taken me all year but finally got the whole series off of eBay)
Make your own guitar plectrum machine
Book about conspiracy theories
Pen that looks like Gandalfs staff
BB Gun thats a replica of Harrison fords gun in blade runner
(Might get the lock picking set too)

Then need to get the usual socks and pjs

It’s his birthday at the beginning of January so will split presents between the two.

GoldenBuns · 03/12/2018 15:11

I have bought for DH:

Dark green cord shirt
Beer selection crate from Craved
A Curry Legend cookbook kit from The Spicery

Oysterbabe · 03/12/2018 15:35

I've bought him
A wallet
Swim shorts (he's just started taking our DD swimming every weekend and needs some new ones)
A bottle of his favourite booze and some nice glasses to drink it from.

My DH is so, so hard to buy for. He's super fussy and always immediately buys anything he wants.
