I searched but can't see a thread on this.
DH is very unimaginative (and well to be honest giving him free reign often goes badly wrong!) so every year demands a list. And every year I struggle to think of what to put on it. Typical as any other time of year I could probably think of loads of things!
So give me some inspiration please - what's top of your wish list this year? What lovely things are you secretly coveting?
Thank you

I trawled old threads about this yesterday to get some ideas, and came up with the longest list ever (it's also my birthday, I don't expect to get everything, and the list will help my parents who will want to get me something too). Here goes:

Cashmere gloves
Pasta-making course with DD (we attempted to make fresh pasta at the weekend, and it was...interesting)
MAC make-up
Other Stories crescent necklace
Tickets to something in NYC (we're all going at Easter, so I thought tickets to something we'd be seeing anyway)
Possibly spa session at Centre Parcs (going after Xmas)
L'Occitane stuff replenished
PJs (I buy for all family on Xmas Eve)
Cashmere jumper
Book gift from Mr B's Emporium
Sweaty Betty vouchers for the sale
Refills for True Grace diffusers
Cos vouchers
Tiffany's starfish earrings (but in NYC as will be cheaper)
Royal Doulton Pacific crockery - finally get rid of our cheap, chipped Ikea stuff
Sheepskin for next to bed
Kitchen tongs
Michelle Obama book

I've asked my husband for these www.grahamandgreen.co.uk/duck-feet-frames

Other than that I would like

  • A day off from gestational diabetes
  • My back to stop hurting
  • A pair of comfy non twee, non pink over bump maternity pyjamas.
Petitprince · 21/11/2018 09:12

Soft pyjamas, good books, walking boots and chocolate!

makes a noise like a light sabre when you turn it on and off I'm not sure the price makes it worth it Grin

For those of you eyeing up the Hotel Chocolate velvetiser, Aldi do one for £20: www.aldi.co.uk/ambiano-milk-heater-frother/p/086703237701900

ritzbiscuits · 21/11/2018 11:39

Thanks for starting this thread OP, my own list is growing.

I have asked for Harry Potter paperback book set, as I've listened to the first two on Audible and want to read the rest.

Otherwise:
Liz Earle/Loccitane goodies (keeping an eye out for Black Friday deals)
PJs/Onesie
Snuggly socks to wear in the evening
Another Emma Bridgewater mug
Maybe another paperback?

ritzbiscuits · 21/11/2018 11:40

@FantailsFly Thanks for the Guardian link, my nail clipping excessive hubbie will be getting new Muji clippers to try! Grin

MinecraftHolmes · 21/11/2018 12:52

My DH is the same. I give him a list of "any combination of things would be great" items at a range of price points from a couple of pounds up to more expensive things at about the £30-40 mark so he can work to a budget.

This year I've got things like:

  • A little bit of the chocolate I really like (as in not a bar of Dairy Milk bigger than my face)
  • A bottle of my favourite wine or gin
  • Nice hand cream and a bottle of Solar Oil
  • PJs
  • Slippers
  • A coffee grinder
  • A fancy (and gorgeous looking) cafitiere to add to my coffee apparatus collection
  • Let's Go Pikachu for the Switch

It's handy because it means when MIL inevitably asks him what to get me, he can suggest something he's not bought Grin

is MAC makeup good then ? it's on a few lists Flowers

EmmaStone · 21/11/2018 17:13

I've been wearing MAC for years and years, and so it's probably just habit - I know the quality of their stuff, I know what colours suit me (except it's REALLY annoying when they discontinue colours, or have a palette with a colour that they don't sell individually and I've run out).

I do like the stuff though, and the massive range.

BumbleBeee69 · 21/11/2018 17:22

Ooh I might try some Mac then, I'm of that age where shiny sparkly on the eyes is a no no and need a complete rethink overhaul Grin

This thread is gold! Would be good to put a link in Dadsnet...

I've no confidence with fashion so never go near clothes, bags, jewellery etc. without specific instructions, but it's sad to not have a surprise. Would you rather have a surprise that you'd probably return or something you've hand picked?

WhyDidIEatThat · 21/11/2018 17:48

I want my old Land Rover defender back, and the money to keep him moving for a few more years. Failing that any working series Land Rover with a split screen, maybe in marine blue?

Whyohwhy65 · 21/11/2018 17:50

Ghds but I know i won't get them as we can't afford them

stegosauruslady · 21/11/2018 17:56

I want...

a Kindle Paperwhite, with a big fat voucher to spend on books
Pokemon Lets Go Eevee
Whiskey

This is basically my newborn baby survival kit, I'm due on the 10th Jan!

bookmum08 · 21/11/2018 17:58

Lego Brickheadz Turkey *
Lego Brickheadz Santa and Mrs Claus
Various paperbacks
Some sewing sets from Hobbycraft
*already got them - may build the turkey tomorrow as it's technically a 'Thanksgiving' turkey.
I also want a Bunty Annual but the last one was published a decade ago so that ain't happening.

Annandale · 21/11/2018 18:04

I would like

Sonos (I don't understand what that involves but as long as I can have music on in any room...)
A milk frother
Spa day
Sexy nightie and negligee
Dollars

I will get
A milk frother
A carving board

MinecraftHolmes · 21/11/2018 18:18

Would you rather have a surprise that you'd probably return or something you've hand picked?

Something handpicked every time. But I generally don't like surprises. If I get told I'm getting a surprise I can't rest until I know what it is, then I can forget about it until the time.

If in doubt - go by their interests, or ask!
