Who, other than Molton brown, sells a Christmassy smelling hand wash?

I bought a lovely plum shower gel from Molton Brown at the weekend, smells fantastic! I think they do it in the hand wash too, but it can be very expensive in there! I'm looking at you almost £200 advent calendar! Grin

I have noticed this a lot on Christmas threads lately - competitive environmental awareness, usually coupled with competitive frugality.

If you are not interested in this, why be attracted to a thread to discuss it, other than to parade your superior environmental credentials - AKA to show off?:

This is the first year I have had the 'head space' and time to 'do' Christmas properly for my children - who are you to tell me that I should not buy Christmas duvet covers that will come out year after year, Christmas handwash that will replace normal handwash and Christmas pyjamas that will be worn all year round? How dare you?

BertramKibbler · 12/11/2018 12:10

We have an Avon rep here and I’ve been looking in their books but not spotted any Christmassy handwash yet, lots of other stuff but not handwash!

Willow and Plum (independent soap maker, on Facebook but I think they’re relaunching their website this week) sell bars of Frankincense and Myrhh soap - it’s £6 for a 140g bar but it’s handmade, palm oil free and vegan friendly. I got to smell it in a shop last week and it smells divine.

BertramKibbler · 12/11/2018 12:12

Unfortunately can’t do bar soap but may be useful to others, thanks!

I think I've found it online! Cheap and cheerful, but smells lovely!

Plastic free is the way to go.

BertramKibbler · 12/11/2018 12:26

I have seen that one willo but dismissed it as not being Christmassy! Is it nice? It would be nicer to spend £1 rather than £20ish

OP posts:
willothewisp17 · 12/11/2018 12:36

I thought it was really nice, I'm sure I bought two or three bottles in the one to and gave one to a friend!

It had that hint of christmas spicey smell and was lovely and shimmery!

Angelkd · 12/11/2018 12:37

Hope u find some nice xmas handwash i diddnt know u could get now i want some, the bottles can be recycled x

user1499173618 · 12/11/2018 12:42

Plastic free is the way to go.

willothewisp17 · 12/11/2018 12:43

@user1499173618 I think you've made your point?

ghostsandghoulies · 12/11/2018 12:57

It's a shocker that handwash has made things kick off.

I have handwashes in the loos/bathroom and it takes us 4-6 weeks to get through 1 bottle. How is picking a festive handwash contributing to global warming? 🤔

I thought it's normal to buy shower gels/handwash seasonally? In spring I pick floral, summer lemon/summer berry, autumn and winter cinnamon/clementine...

Leeds2 · 12/11/2018 13:17

I had the Bayliss & Harding one last year (possibly purchased from Waitrose, as that is the only supermarket where I look at the selection of soaps/shower gels etc). It was called something like Festive Fizz.

kaldefotter · 12/11/2018 13:19

Waitrose do a lovely ginger and clementine handwash (and shower gel and bath foam) that smells Christmassy to me. £2 for the bottle, but often on offer.

PhilomenaButterfly · 12/11/2018 13:19

I'm also after this!

Babybearsporij · 13/11/2018 10:31

Beauticology usually do one. I think they are Bayliss & Harding though.

SplashingAroundTown · 13/11/2018 11:25

I'd just like to defend bar soap. I've started using it again to avoid the extra plastic and I am using up soaps that I've been given over the years. The Roger & Gallet soaps are incredible! I also have soap from REN, Neal's Yard and Crabtree & Evelyn (some of them over 20 years old - been keeping my drawers smelling nice!) I can't see what the poster wrote that was rude, but I do think it's good to be mindful of the environmental impact. Soap is a really easy way to cut down on plastic.

BertramKibbler · 13/11/2018 11:33

Unless a small child in your family eats it as I’ve already stated. Please stop the lectures this was supposed to be a nice thread about something christmassy

OP posts:
kaldefotter · 13/11/2018 12:35

Splashing, perhaps this is not the thread for you. The OP has been clear about what kind of suggestions she's looking for.

Why don't you go start your own thread about the joy of bar soap?

melissasummerfield · 13/11/2018 12:44

I think we should all be happy for strawberry as she lives such a charmed existence that she has got the energy to get ‘offended’ by people who use hand soap Hmm

Brazenhussy0 · 13/11/2018 12:45

I thought this would be a nice, cheerful, drama-free thread to read while I have a cold - I was wrong Grin
Nothing like a good bit of moral superiority to bring on the festive spirit...

I love the new body shop Christmas range of scents but bar soaps dry out my skin (cracked, bleeding mess) so will be following this with interest.
Molton Brown similarly dries out my skin and always smells too... herby.

Taffeta · 13/11/2018 13:16

Yes I’ll second the new Body Shop Christmas scents - they have a variety.

Bar and handwash Grin

BertramKibbler · 13/11/2018 13:51

Very diplomatic Taffeta!

I love Neil's Yard Mandarin and Clove hand wash. Ocado have it currently in a set with hand lotion for 25% off, it comes in glass bottles but I do appreciate it has a plastic pump and isn't cheap. It is a lovely treat at Christmas time though.
