88 year old Lady who needs nothing

Looking for suggestions please.

I have an elderly relative who I am very close to, she needs and wants nothing. Isn't a fan of clutter/ornaments/stuff. Hates flowers. Not perfume, smellies, coffee voucher or days out.

Please help, I don't mind getting a gift voucher if I can't find another idea but I would prefer not to as she has enough money to buy herself anything she wants so it would not be much of a treat.

Afternoon tea together

Or any other experience thing you think she would like

TheQueef · 19/10/2018 21:31

Does she read?
Historical photo book from her childhood?

gamesconsoler · 19/10/2018 21:32

I stopped getting my grandparents presents years a go and now take them out for a nice lunch/dinner/cream tea for their birthdays and Christmases. They are rather happy with the arrangement.

Chimchar · 19/10/2018 21:34

Audio book voucher?
Nice bird feeder for the garden
'Cook' voucher to buy frozen food
Nice soft blanket
Cashmere scarf

chipsandpeas · 19/10/2018 21:35

My MIL is 90, does not want or need anything. I send her a bouquet for her birthday, gives her pleasure for a week or so, but doesnt create clutter.

Raven88 · 19/10/2018 21:38

Get her a small sentimental gift? Is there a particular sweet or smell that reminds that reminds you of her. Or something useful? I bought my grandparents a cozy throw one year and that went down well.

Sherry

Some good ideas thank you.

Sadly no food gifts as she has a strict diet, afternoon tea sounds fab but she would consider that a waste of money I would happily gobble all the food

She has my time we go out for a cuppie and some bits of shopping twice a week

davisday · 19/10/2018 21:52

Make her something lovely

I can't even make a decent cup of tea Blush

DC (8) will be making something which will far outdo any effort I could put it Grin

What about a drive around all her childhood haunts?

user1471451866 · 19/10/2018 21:56

My mum, similar age, appreciates a nice pair of leather gloves.

AllDriedOut · 19/10/2018 22:00

Nespresso? If she's ok with modernism's!

teaorwine · 19/10/2018 22:01

I took my 77 year old mother out for afternoon tea to a posh hotel, while she was scandalized by the cost, she loved ...if I’d told her in advance, she would have resisted it as wasteful.

user1471451866 · 19/10/2018 22:01

She also liked a book of old photos of her town.

FusionChefGeoff · 19/10/2018 22:05

We take great nanny to the theatre - trip to the Harvester first too!

BrokenWing · 19/10/2018 22:17

Does she feel the cold? My mum feels it even when her heating is on and I'm getting her some cashmere fingerless gloves or wrist warmers.

prettygreywalls · 19/10/2018 22:22

My elderly DGm loved going out to the cinema with me on a regular basis , low physical effort but an outing with a purpose

lorisparkle · 19/10/2018 22:22

My parents, whilst a bit younger, love magazine subscriptions. They can enjoy them each month and then can recycle or donate to our local surgeries waiting room. My mum has had a couple of different ones and always says no when I suggest something completely different!
