im using these gift bags, these cards and wrapping paper from here.

BiddyPop · 19/10/2018 09:09

I have maroon with white details paper from M&S last year and have seen a maroon with gold detail should I need spare. I also have 2 rolls of silver with white writing. So a mixture of those.

BiddyPop · 19/10/2018 09:10

I need to find either white or maroon ribbon though, as gold and pillar box red and glittery green won’t go with either. And silver will get lost on the silver paper but looks wrong against the Matt of the other.

Im look for the snowman from the short movie wrapping paper does anyone know stores that stock this?
Maroon is a lovely colour, i use different paper for everyone so its nice to get new ideas x

I like your choices sleepismysuperpower1!

I've just ordered a load of stuff from JL. I live abroad where they wrap presents for you in shops which means it's fairly hard to get hold of wrapping paper. And as I buy the majority of presents on-line, wrapping paper is needed!

For all you wrapping experts out there : if you wrap in advance what is the best way of identifying presents? (I need to know what they contain as well as who they are for.). I used post-it notes last year and a load of them dropped off!

Jessica78 · 19/10/2018 19:18

I'm actually really struggling to find nice wrapping paper this year - I know this seems like a ridiculous problem, but hey! Suggestions would be very welcome, I'd like something colourful and alot of options this year seem to be a bit 'grown-up' and (gasp) boring!

Oogle · 19/10/2018 19:21

Jessica you need paperchase! I did white company last year which looked stunning but this year I want bright and colourful - loads on paperchase’s website!

Butterflycookie · 19/10/2018 19:21

WHSmith have some stunning wrapping paper designs. Look on their website. However they are very expensive. I will probably buy some from card factory. I have loads left over from previous years aswell.

Maccycheesefries · 19/10/2018 19:34

I bought a load in the Christmas sales in January so I'm not buying anything this year. I am itching to buy some wrapping paper though, I just love buying wrapping paper. I'm sad like this!

Trashcanoracle · 19/10/2018 19:48

I'm going with Ikea plain red paper with East of India ribbon bows and a sprig of rosemary & bay from the garden.
May add a couple of jingle bells to deter present rattlers Grin

Spam88 · 19/10/2018 19:59

slithering could you write a number on one of the bottom corners of each gift and then have a list of what each number is?

I'm going reindeer, tartan and kraft for adults, white and red stripes for kids. Still need to find some tartan wrapping paper though.

Slitheringcorpsefeed · 19/10/2018 20:03

Spam88 that is genius, thank you so much! It also solves the problem of any potential snoopers reading labels/post-its etc (now just need to keep list well hidden and be able to find it on the day Grin).

mycatplotsdeath · 19/10/2018 20:05

I'm going for plain brown paper with different ribbons and instead of name tags, colour coordinated baubles

MsSquiz · 19/10/2018 20:12

I use plain brown parcel paper with red or green satin ribbons, brown luggage tags for gift tags and a small sprig of holly taken from our holly bush in the garden

Littlelambpeep · 19/10/2018 20:13

Beautiful berry wrapping paper from the national trust £3 a roll

Maccycheesefries · 19/10/2018 20:38

If you have huge boxed gifts like tv's etc then use a paper disposable table cloth. Made my life so much easier than fiddling with multiple rolls of paper.

Slitheringcorpsefeed · 19/10/2018 20:50

Great idea Maccy!

AllHallowsQueen · 19/10/2018 21:07

For children I use Kikki K wrap and red and white (candy cane) butcher’s twine. I use 2 different types depending on whether the gifts are from us or Father Christmas.

For adults I have leftover white wrap with glittery flecks from the White Company, and white wrap with glittery silver snowflakes from my local garden centre. I usually use red velvet ribbon or Cox & Cox “merry Christmas ribbon” with a little sprig of spruce for decoration. Still on the look out for gift tags!

Enchancia · 20/10/2018 00:09

Spam88, could I ask where you got the red and white stripe paper? Been looking for some for ages! Thanks

Isadora2007 · 20/10/2018 00:39

@slithering
I wrap in advance and after years of forgetting what was what I have a great system now.
The kids (4) have their own paper. This is so much easier all round, even if their piles don’t look quite as nice now...
other presents are wrapped and boxed to store around the house. I label with a gift label then write a list in my Xmas book (you NEED one of these- any notepad will do, but I do have a fab cath kidston xmas file especially for all Xmas prep)
So it might say-
Amazon box number 1
Auntie Greta- scarf and smellies
Pete and Janet- biscuits

Etc
I number the boxes or describe them in my list too... and end up with lots of boxes stashed around the house... maybe need to start writing the hiding places in my book too!!

beeefcreep · 20/10/2018 00:49

Not sure yet.

Last year I did Victorian style with brown paper and string which was so cheap but also looked purposeful IYSWIM.

Not sure if I can get away with it two years in a row.....

Spam88 · 20/10/2018 08:43

enchancia I'm using this paperr* from Studio but looks like it's sold out now 👎

Slitheringcorpsefeed · 20/10/2018 10:48

Thank you so much for all the tips Isadora! Much appreciated! You sound very organised indeed. I usually enjoy wrapping everything at the last minute, but this year, for various reasons, I need to be more organised! Also, now I'm older, the staying up and wrapping until 1.30 am scenario when I need to get up early and have huge amounts to do the next day, isn't quite so appealing as it once was!

bookmum08 · 20/10/2018 10:52

Blimey. I just go to Card Factory.
