Am totally stumped this year.

He doesn’t want clothes, or books, doesn’t drink, already has a coffee machine, and is on a diet so doesn’t want treat food.

He does like:

  • films. Usually marvel and action films. But doesn’t want any DVDs and rarely has time for a cinema trip. Already has a popcorn maker.
  • massages but he gets these once a month anyway.
  • meals out with friends but we’ll do that as his birthday party, so it’s not really a gift.

Otherwise he just likes simple things (park with our children, lunch with friends, having a nap!) so can’t think of any gifts to go with those.

Any ideas? Please? Budget up to £150.

Nutribullet if he’s on a health kick?
Wireless earphones for the gym?

Hideandgo · 11/10/2018 09:23

Framed antique map of a country important to him. Like honeymoon location or somewhere he lived etc.

Not RTFT but stuff I have bought or am planning to for DH this year that have gone down well:
Subscription to Empire magazine (I now renew every year for him)
Sweater - merino or cashmere depending on budget
Leather wash bag with his favourite toiletries / aftershave
Marvel / Star Wars pj bottoms
Quality slippers and dressing gown
Nice bottle of gin / whisky
Cashmere scarf
Leather work bag
Wool coat
Leather jacket
Games console / new games (tends to upgrade every few years)
Gig / show tickets - I've done bands / comedians / classical concerts / theatre / Brian Cox tour one year
Swiss Army knife / engraved Leatherman - he's a cub leader so had it engraved with his leader name
Character socks - usually marvel
Marvel notebook & pen
Obligatory chocolate orange for his stocking 😆

My very fussy DH has just signed up to a shave plan subscription at Harry's. He gets his razors sent via post in a lovely brown box and says it is the best shave he has ever had. He is really fussy and impossible to buy for but really likes this.

New water bottle, gym towels
Decent men's facial care e.g. LAB series
Fitness/ healthy eating cookbook e.g. Joe Wikes

UGG slippers

record player?? I got one for DH 2 years ago and it went down really well

Ggirl27 · 11/10/2018 14:47

If you're looking for an amusing present try Below the Belt toiletries - they are really good too!

Sadik · 11/10/2018 14:54

Would he enjoy something that is really for the kids but that they can do together - board game / craft kit etc?

Youranus · 11/10/2018 14:58

A bike?

WerewolfNumber1 · 11/10/2018 18:19

Shaving kit is a good idea actually, he has very thick stubble and finds shaving a bit uncomfortable - don’t suppose anybody can recommend a particular brand for that?

Kids still pretty young (eldest is 3) so a bit limited on board games etc.

Bike is interesting, we live near some lovely hills for riding but I wouldn’t really know where to start. I could get him a token bike related gift and a voucher for a bike shop to choose one?

I’m getting mine a sodastream. He likes to drink carbonated water and this will save us loads of bottles.

Fstar · 11/10/2018 18:55

Does he have an iwatch? Highly recommend that and the waffle maker (buttermilk ones are amazing)

Slowtrain2dawn · 11/10/2018 19:32

Is there a cause that is close to his heart? It sounds as though he has everything he needs so a charity donation/ sponsorship of a child in the developing world could be a meaningful gift.

BeaLola · 12/10/2018 00:38

Apart from shaving items mentioned, a balloon or microlight flight, a beautiful car keys keyring from .Not on the High Street with DCs fingerprints on.

I'm interested in the waffle maker mentioned upthread - which make and the buttermilk version sound great

Dh says that the way the brush massages his skin is very soothing, and the lather softens the bristles. At first he often lathered up, then rinsed his face and lathered again before actually shaving, because he liked the feel so much. The soap I got him was that Kent one I linked (it smelled gorgeous on dh), but ever since I was diagnosed with a fragrance allergy dh has used an ordinary, gentle fragrance-free block soap. Dh tried a couple of different soaps until he found exactly the one he likes.

Personalised Ordnance Survey Map? Our local area spreads on to three or four OS maps, so we did a ‘family adventures’ map centreing on our local area.

JellySlice · 12/10/2018 01:01

You could get him a voucher for a open razor shave at a traditional barber, or shaving lessons there.

JosephineHass · 12/10/2018 01:07

Genealogical family tree.

Is it just me or did that sound like it was out of some hot and steamy novel? Wink

BrisaOtonal · 12/10/2018 06:40

I checked out Below the Belt toiletries for men and did actually spit out my coffee and nearly choked laughing.

BrendasUmbrella · 20/11/2018 02:03

The Thanos gauntlet sashh... I think you'll be to thank for my DS's favourite present this year!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/11/2018 11:10

Lovely sheepskin slippers from Celtic Sheepskin. . Big selection, and unlike Uggs, made in the U.K (Cornwall). V good, quick service, too.
They've been v popular with both dh and son in law.

DobbinsVeil · 20/11/2018 11:13

Swiss Army Knife? There are loads of different ones varying in price and functions
