Stuck for Christmas present for my daughter of 36, working mum of 2. Any help appreciated! Not interested in make up, has no time to read. Price around £30.

What about some lovely bath stuff or shower stuff, a fancy candle, voucher for dinner x

Puddelchen · 17/08/2018 10:11

That all sounds nice, thanks.
Please keep ideas coming!

Maybe a foot spa or a new outfit / coat or boots

Spam88 · 17/08/2018 10:16

My mum paid for me to have s nice hair cut last year for my birthday (and babysat!).

Aceinthehole · 17/08/2018 10:20

Time!! I'm in exactly that position (being the daughter) and all I want is time preferably to myself an appointment/booking for something she would enjoy and has to go to alone or with someone of her choice would be my perfect present!

I’m a 38 year old working Mum of 2 and I like practical presents that are a bit more luxurious than what I’d usually buy myself. For example; neoprene muck boots to replace my cheap old wellies, genuine nespresso coffee pods where I’d usually buy supermarket own ones, upmarket versions of my usual scented candles/hand creams etc.

Does she commute far? A subscription to something like Audible might be nice if you know she’s into that sort of thing.

Cheekyandfreaky · 17/08/2018 10:33

I am going to be 36 by Christmas and I’m a working mum of 2. I’d want some of my mum’s cooking for my freezer and offers of babysitting. I might actually start hinting now.

SockEatingMonster · 17/08/2018 10:33

Another idea; do you have lots of photos of her children? If so, I bet she’d love a photo book. Or maybe even a photo book of photos from her childhood if you have time to dig them out and scan them.

Definitely a haircut voucher. I quite often get facial vouchers from my v generous family but need haircuts more because I look like a haystack with nice skin. Agree with the better-versions-of-things-you-buy-yourself or replacements for things that are a bit ratty (eg I need a new butter dish because the old one's badly chipped but wouldn't buy one because it still does the job it's meant to do).

So many lovely ideas, thanks, I feel spoilt for choice.

Babysitting and some lovely skincare items

ChilliMum · 17/08/2018 11:08

Slightly older but similar situation. Love the haircut voucher idea.

Nice scarf or gloves, bags (simple 1 colour and large to go with everything)

I also love anything kitchen related. It may sound naff but I can't afford nice things for the kitchen and had some cool stuff from my parents like lemon grater, electric whisk, Casserole dish etc.. not expensive but stuff I couldn't justify.

My mum always gets me a little something along side the more practical e.g. a body spray or neclase or earings (costume jewelry nothing expensive) which she wraps beautifully and always feels special Smile

Puddelchen · 17/08/2018 11:13

I love the haircut voucher idea too.

I always love receiving this:

blitzen · 17/08/2018 11:20

Sorry, link was supposed to be the bath oil collection, not the large single oil x

SawnUpLooRoll · 17/08/2018 11:32

Make a goody bag of several lovely things - something smelly, something eaty, something drinky, something pretty and something silly. If you're feeling really creative, base it all around a theme (black and white? A particular spice? An animal? etc) If each item only costs a fiver or less, it can feel like a bag of treasures :)

Similar age to your daughter...
Parents usually get me practical things such as
Hair Salon Voucher
Pamper Day if thats something she would be comfortable doing
Gift Vouchers for a Resteraunt as they know time out is something I struggle to get

Usually I get a few treats such as
Lush Bath Bombs
Sanctuary Products
Gin

I’ll be 36 come Christmas! I love crafting so vouchers for a yarn store (not saying this is your dd’s thing, but something for an indulgent hobby). Nice cookware or bakeware if that’s something she enjoys. A box set of a tv show she enjoyed (either currently or in the past). Favourite sweets or chocs (again maybe something you know she loved years ago). Cinema voucher for a night out plus babysitting.

dontquit · 17/08/2018 12:48

I'm 35 and mum of 2. My favorite presents are books (love reading when I get the chance), or vouchers for dinner/spa treatment with offer to babysit.

Puddelchen · 17/08/2018 14:07

You are all amazing, thank you all.

I’m a 31 year old mom of two and I’d bloody love some money towards doing stuff around the house 😆👍 decorating, plastering etc

Verbena87 · 17/08/2018 19:19

Neal’s yard bath stuff smells heavenly - always glad to get that.

Hair voucher (and handmade childcare voucher to go with it?) is a fab idea.

Audible subscription would be fab too if she hasn’t time to read (also can be used for Harry Potter or something else everyone can get into on long car trips)

80sMum · 17/08/2018 19:22

How about a voucher to get her nails done?

WeeM · 17/08/2018 19:26

Voucher for meal out, nail/massage voucher, nice candle if she’s into candles, perfume-I always like getting perfume, afternoon tea voucher.

snowmanshoes · 17/08/2018 19:40

I agree with the voucher for somewhere, either hair/nails/eyelash tint etc and a good book!
