Stuck for Christmas present for my daughter of 36, working mum of 2. Any help appreciated! Not interested in make up, has no time to read. Price around £30.

Anything Jo Malone, even some nice soap or something. If I get money, I just spend it on the kids but would love someone to buy me something really indulgent.

Meandyouandyouandme · 17/08/2018 19:52

Silk pillowcase, bought them for my DDs age 17 and 25, and just given one to my friend in her 50s. Good for your skin and hair, and cool in the summer and warm in winter.

If you decide on a beauty treat like hairstyle voucher or beautician voucher- wrap it up with a shampoo/conditioner set or hand cream set etc.

Fstar · 17/08/2018 22:27

Im same age and always ask for skincare that i use as its expensive from Temple Spa, they do nice gift sets too

Butterflycookie · 26/08/2018 11:58

A hinmalyan salt lamp....they look really cool!

beeefcake · 26/08/2018 12:14

I would love some nice pillow cases or bed linen as opposed to the Asda ones I usually buy

(Not dissing Asda, I will always love their bed stuff)

WellTidy · 26/08/2018 13:32

Slightly older than 36, but I meet the other criteria!

Nice bar soap, tk maxx is brilliant for these
Hand cream - rituals or Occitane would be superb
Bubble bath

The best gift in the world is time. I wouldn’t love an offer of babysitting plus a night out with DH. Within your budget, maybe a cinema voucher and a bag of popcorn?

WellTidy · 26/08/2018 13:33

would not wouldn’t!!

FabulousTomatoes · 26/08/2018 13:36

A beauty or hair treatment would make my heart sink if I was short on time. I’d much prefer a good bottle of gin or a champagne that would be otherwise be a luxury as part of the food shop.

FabulousTomatoes · 26/08/2018 13:37

Alternatively jo Malone or Neals Yard stuff.

TokyoSushi · 26/08/2018 13:41

A really really nice version of something, like Jo Malone Shower Gel, or cashmere socks, or a beautiful diary, as a very similar aged working mum of 2, I get barely any treats so would love this!

Monday55 · 26/08/2018 13:48

An Xmas card with £30 cash inside and a note "treat yourself".
.
I'd appreciate that more as there's nothing I haven't got.

Shelby1981 · 26/08/2018 14:09

I'm 37, but not girly at all so not keen on toiletries/facial voucher etc. I'd love an adult colouring book, some posh pencils or pens, lego, knitting or sewing stuff, or a book. Oh and time to use them as I have a 2-year old Grin

monkeymamma · 26/08/2018 15:37

I’m the same age as your daughter and have 2 kiddos and am about to go back to FT work.
I like anything from my mum 😍 but especial fail-safe options/things I’ve been given and really love are:
New socks
Hand cream
Hair mask
New slippers
Thermos flask
Birthday/address book/calendar/diary
New pens or notebooks
Chocolate (of course!)

Does she run or do yoga? Bits and bobs that support a hobby or interest are always well received 😄

£30 also buys a good magazine subscription if you think she might have time to browse one rather than reading a full book. It makes you think of the giver when it arrives and it’s a very thoughtful gift. Living etc is great, also Country Living, Prima, or something more hobbies related.

What are you hoping she might get you, OP? Any good mum pressie ideas?! 🙃😆

2slicesoftoast · 26/08/2018 16:53

I'd love a hair voucher and a babysitter so I could go on my own. Throw in the promise that I can chill out and have a cuppa solo and I'd be glad if that was my only gift!

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 26/08/2018 18:37

My mum always gives me a bag with new jammies, fluffy socks, slippers, maybe a hat and a scarf, and always but always a chocolate orange. Getting the same thing every year is part of the tradition, and I love knowing they are on the way.

The fact that she also always adds a little purse stuffed with tenners maybe helps? Grin

MichonnesBBF · 26/08/2018 18:51

I'm 36 and every Christmas my mam gives both my husband and I a voucher for a restaurant like, Nando's, zizz's, Jamie's, Pizza Hut etc with the added gift of being babysitter for the night, She also wrap's up a small token gift individually for us to open on the day (Lynx set/next perfume set)

mellongoose · 26/08/2018 19:30

Bread maker.
Something for her hobbies.
Time for herself!!

banannabreadforme · 26/08/2018 19:38

A voucher for the 2 of you to have a spa day together. Or a nice meal.

SnowOnTheSeine · 26/08/2018 20:20

I'm in same situation as your daughter. What I lack severely is time and motivation to go shopping. So my parents tend to buy me things I need but can't find time to go and find/buy like a decent set of sharp knives for cooking etc. I also give my
Dad a list of books for my kindle and he buys them and (most importantly) downloads them into my kindle!

KC225 · 27/08/2018 00:38

Clarins bath & shower concentrate is 20.00/and smells heavenly. Plus one of those bargain 4 month magazine subscriptions too.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 27/08/2018 08:26

Photo book of the kids
Silk pillow case
Gift voucher for a massage at local beauty salon
Favourite drink ie bottle of gin and a few bottles of Fevertree tonic
