noword is it the dolls she likes or the unwrapping of them? From what I've seen the quality isn't great for the price you pay. My dds aren't into them but both love the surprises of blind bags so I'm going to have a go at making the giant kinder egg this year and filling with shopkins bits (which they love and are played with all the time!) And dolls mine have the shopkins and enchantimals dolls and both are v good quality and lots of play value.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/06/2018 08:30

I think she's either heard about them at school or seen them on YouTube, so I imagine it's the opening that's tickled her fancy! I'm not keen, so I'll see if she puts it on her Christmas list, I think. Maybe.

starryeyedsnowgirl · 23/06/2018 19:08

Ticket to ride is a great board game. It seems they have a junior version which is well reviewed for ages 6+ currently best price on Amazon £18ish

FireflyGirl · 23/06/2018 19:23

Word on the street is that Amazon Prime Day will be on 16th July this year. Later than last year, as the World Cup Final isn't until 15th...

Gooseysgirl · 24/06/2018 14:24

Lego 10698 (classic large box) is cheapest at Smyths Toys at the moment at £33.99. https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/lego-and-bricks/lego-classic/lego-10698-classic-large-creative-brick-box/p/141295

Urban Decay Naked Smoky pallet reduced from £39.50 to £23.70 at Debenhams.

FireflyGirl · 24/06/2018 21:54

*pallette. No pallets of eye shadow, I'm afraid.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/06/2018 21:59

@RJNoMore1 might like that. I'm half sure her DD likes that brand!

FireflyGirl · 24/06/2018 22:03

Think you're right, Fluffy. Sure it was her who noticed when one I posted before was a bit dodgy (I didn't know, btw - I don't wear makeup so wouldn't have a clue!)

woodwaj · 24/06/2018 22:24

Before I go and buy a case of prosecco can anyone recommend some bargain teacher gifts? My son leaves playgroup there are 7 women and 1 man on my shopping list!

bananasandwicheseveryday · 24/06/2018 22:38

Every year I search for the perfect app to store my organised shopping on and I've not found one I love yet!

I use Christmas Gift List. I use it for Christmas and birthday gifts. It's easy to use, keeps an up to date record of spending and because it automatically stores the lost at the end of the year, I can check back and make sure I haven't bought the same gift for the same person.

woodwaj · 24/06/2018 22:50

Thanks banana on the app is there a red present with yellow string?

NoWordForFluffy · 25/06/2018 06:54

Nor do I, Firefly!

We only buy for the key worker, woodwaj. I'm doing afternoon tea in a gift bag for them this year. All homemade stuff (which I know that some on MN would just bin, but hopefully they'd be given to someone else instead if not wanted!): strawberry jam, lemon curd and scones with a pot of cream (that bit isn't homemade!). I'll get the kids to make thank you cards too.

Yes, that's the one. I've used it for the last three Christmases and I really like it. Especially that I can add pictures, links etc. Makes it all so much easier to track than my old spreadsheets. And I can do it immediately - don't have to wait until I can get to the computer.

SpecialK24 · 25/06/2018 11:18

@ bananasandwicheseveryday

Can you please send a photo of the app you use? I have one with a red present with a white bow but I dont think you can upload photos and you have lots of entries so how would you know what year you brought what? If that all makes sense? X

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 25/06/2018 16:17

I popped into the card factory for a birthday card earlier and spotted that their Fathers Day gifts were half price. Most things could be used as gifts at Xmas too though as they just had Dad or Grandad on and some could be used for anyone eg. they had little metal dustbins with lids filled with mints for 99p. Bought one for DS as a desktidy.

PamelaPatricia · 25/06/2018 18:11

Possible gift idea for tweens and teens - three tier storage trolley. Similar to IKEA model, which has a multitude of uses, Hobbycraft are offering theirs for half price at £25.

Lovely snowman and snowdog bedding and also Christmas paw patrol for £9 at Asda here

DD1 loves the snowman, but DH was bemoaning the 9 boxes of Christmas stuff in the attic so I don't think I can add another pile of stuff to the mix.

InNeedOfALieInNow · 25/06/2018 20:20

Has anybody seen any Christmas wrapping paper? I wrap the kids presents (stocking and main presents all from F.C.) in different paper to everything from us so they think it’s special Santa paper. I bought in bulk a few years ago but have run out. Need a kids type print (Santa/penguins/reindeer type thing) on long rolls, three different designs and preferably each with a different main colour. Can’t find any online anywhere

NoWordForFluffy · 25/06/2018 20:42

Brilliant link to the bedding, Starry. The DC will be unbelievably chuffed with that (and I'd never have paid £18 for it!). I actually read the book to DS at bedtime tonight! They both love it. 😁

newsparklythings · 25/06/2018 21:23

Oh that is cute bedding Smile

woodwaj · 25/06/2018 21:53

I got my paper in bulk from next. But I did get it in the January sale.

Thanks banana I'll get that app and give it a whirl!

Noword I wouldn't normally consider buying for all but they have been a massive help supporting us with his extra needs and all the paperwork that comes along with an autism diagnosis. So I'd like to thank them all (cheaply!) Your present sounds really nice and I certainly would enjoy that!!

Your wish is my command. Pic 1 shows how it automatically saves the list at the end of the year. Pic 2 is a screenshot of the play store page so you can check it out.

woodwaj as a nursery worker honestly a heart felt card means so much more than presents. And a good review on their Facebook page/website for other prospective patents to see is always appreciated. But if you wanted to give a gift handcream is always a winner (I am forever washing my hands so they can get quite dry) or pens and pretty post its or notepads for writing observations/paperwork.

Ps the homemade afternoon tea sounds amazing! I also do homemade gifts for teachers - my speciality is caramel shortbread, my family and colleagues get very excited if there is leftovers after making up teachers gifts 😁
