A few years ago my DH made up a small hamper of lots of my favourite things. It didn’t cost much but the thought that went into it was lovely. This year my present is quite extravagant (in our books) and I’m very excited but the hamper still wins!

A wardrobe of clothes for my teddy, which had been sewn for him by my Nana's friend. Couture for teddy! There were some particularly lovely tartan PJs. Still have teddy, not sure what happened to the clothes.

Also - a pile of books from my dad. He went to Harrods book department (why there I do not know) and chose a pile of books for me himself - there was a Richard Scarry French dictionary, novels, reference books - all chosen by him. I've bought my DD a pile of books this year - not quite as tall as the one my dad bought for me, but I hope she loves it half as much and understands the thought that went into the choices!

A horse. XH bought me one the Christmas before we married. I had a terrible accident with the horse 3 weeks later and never rode him again. He was sold on, I got another horse, but then we bought a house and the horse had to go. Still, it was a dream finally come to life and I cherish the few photos I have that were taken that Christmas morning.

A big rainbow colour pack of sharpies. I love them! Still get excited when I find a reason to use them, and I keep them strictly out of the reach of the children.
