No one in my family likes Christmas pudding except me. Note to self to buy one that is fantastic just for me.

All you non pudding people, what dessert are you having on Christmas Day?

Cider It's quite fun making them too.

Just get a packet or two of Oreos. Put them in a food storage bag and smash them up with a rolling pin.

Get a packet of cream cheese and add half - three quarters of that and mix them together (you can add more but check the consistency, you want to be able to shape them into little balls).

You will have to get your hands dirty here so grab bits of the mixture and roll it up in your hands to make a nice round shape. I like to freeze them before dipping them in melted chocolate as they're easier to handle. That's it!

Just saw a 'Nutella and Malteser cheesecake' on Facebook. Looked amazing.

I like a nice roulade or pavlova, nothing too heavy but this year we are just eating party food on Christmas Day so will probably do macarons and mini eclares ( finger food ).

Thanks DrRisotto. Will give them a go. Might get DS to help.

Trifle with waaaaay too much sherry for me. Another with jelly for the kiddos.

Bailey's tiramisu. I've been Low carb all year and worried I may find it too sweet. Or I may eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner...

bluebellforest · 15/11/2017 22:31

We'll be having white chocolate and raspberry trifle, Christmas pudding cheesecake, a Yule log and viennese topped mince pies.
All homemade except the Yule log.
I can't wait 😁

Lots of trifle love on this thread!

SIL is in charge of desserts this year and is making a trifle, plus a one person sized portion of Christmas Pudding for DF. Much prefer the cheese board later on in the evening.

SashaFiercesMum · 16/11/2017 04:05

Not a trifle fan here- I prefer my alcohol separately 😆. Our desserts range from:- Chocolate log, Christmas pudding, Mince pies, Sticky toffee pudding and Syrup sponge pudding. 12 for lunch!

Mary Berrys ultimate chocolate roulade, surprisingly easy to make and best made the day before!

Todamhottoday · 16/11/2017 04:43

Small Christmas pud to share, lashings of cream then followed by massive amounts of local cheese from our nearest farm who makes excellent cheese, cannot wait to be back in the UK for Christmas.

PolarBearGoingSomewhere · 16/11/2017 07:55

Viennetta of course. It's a special occasion after all.

mind boggles at Viennetta for £1 in Iceland

Xmas Pud and double cream for adults (we're all pud lovers in our house) and ice cream with sauce and sprinkles for the DC.

Trifle is a Boxing Day dessert for us.

janaus · 16/11/2017 13:00

Pavlova, of course

Fridayfun · 16/11/2017 13:31

@Phillipa12 do you make and assemble the roulade fully the day before.

ArcheryAnnie · 16/11/2017 13:35

and this year something dairy free. I'm not sure what yet. (suggestions appreciated.)

@HolyShmoley may I heartily recommend the new Ben and Jerry dairy-free range? I have never before seen what the big deal about ice-cream was (swedish glace is ok, as is booja booja, but neither are earth-shaking) AND NOW I DO. I am absolutely obsessed with it.

HolyShmoly · 16/11/2017 19:54

Ooh Archery, thanks for that, I'll see if I can get some for her.

Bubblysqueak · 16/11/2017 19:56
